So I tuned in last night to a preview of the new NBC sitcom, “The New Normal,” which officially debuts tonight. I wanted to see why USA Today TV critic Robert Bianco was so giddy about the show that he gave it not one, but two fawning reviews in the space of four days.
Well it’s not because “The New Normal” is destined to go down in TV history as one of the all time greatest sitcoms, alongside, say, “Seinfeld” or “M.A.S.H” or “All in the Family” or “The Honeymooners.”
No, the only reason it is generating favorable buzz is because of Bianco and other “progressive,” agenda-driven TV critics who hope the gay-themed show furthers the mainstreaming of homosexuality.
“The New Normal’s” main characters are two gay men who want to have a baby, who hire a single mom (who already has a daughter of her own) to be their surrogate. The gays, the surrogate, the daughter are all so sweet. The show’s baddy is the surrogate’s “outspoken, bigoted mom,” as Bianco describes her, played by actress Ellen Barkin.
At least one NBC affiliate – KSL-TV in Salt Lake City – didn’t think “The New Normal” appropriate for its audience. It was something about two men lying in bed, kissing, and whispering sweet nothings to each other.
Of course, Bianco and other TV critics, along with gay “rights” groups accused the station of homophobia.
But the same station previously decided that it wouldn’t air the NBC’s “The Playboy Club.” Yet neither Bianco or his fellow TV critics accused the station’s management of being bunnyphobic.
NBC learned last year that the mass of Americans really didn’t want to see a show on primetime network television that was, in the words of the conservative Parents Television Council, “so inherently linked to a pornographic brand that denigrates and sexualizes women.”
Indeed, the “The Playboy Club” premiered to low ratings, which steadily declined over its next three episodes before NBC finally pulled the plug.
“The New Normal” probably won’t suffer as quick an exit as “The Playboy Club” because of all the hype the show has gotten from Bianco and other TV critics who are determined that “The New Normal” will be the homosexual version of “The Cosby Show.”
But while any and every family with traditional values could identify with “the Cosby Show,” only a small percentage can identify with “The New Normal’s” gay couple who want to bring an innocent child into their ungodly lives.
That may be “normal” at 30 Rock, where NBC execs green-lighted the gay-themed sitcom. But it’s still decidedly abnormal to most Americans.
The new normal previews were enough to make me want to kick my tv screen in.

The white guilters who voted for Obama will watch this out of homophobia guilt. It will slowly rot out what is left of their minds.
You’re probably right. Most Americans won’t find this funny and won’t watch (past the curiosity phase). But this show will be seen as a referendum in popular culture in homosexuality, so the media will go all in and support it regardless of the dearth of viewers.
The solution isn’t to boycott this abomination, but to boycott ALL of NBC, then move on to the advertisers.

worked here in Pittsburgh.
There are many reasons to boycott NBC. This is but another.
Is it just me, or is anyone else just sick and tired of this issue being in our face all the time?
I have gays in my family, and gay friends. It seems nearly every show has to put this issue front and center at some point. From Bones to The Good Wife, at some point homosexuality will be thrust front and center.
Then there’s Glee. Ugh. It’s getting so tedious. If you’re gay, I’m not sure all this exposure is helping your cause. There’s a backfire in here somewhere.
Gross. Although, what’s the difference if they swapped the sexes of all the cast members....two women in bed, a stud, an upset dad.... I doubt this would be OK for TV.

Also while you are at it drop the news magazine subscriptions (E.G. Time, Newsweek, etc), and local news rag! Do I need to say anything about your New York Times or Washington Post subscriptions?
Call your cable company ask if you can block certain channels as say inappropriate for your kids (Lie if you don't have kids!). If they say yes we can do that! Then demand that they block CNN, HLN, fill-in-the-blank!. Even if the refuse to the word will get back to the networks.
I believe that this is the show that refers to a woman’s uterus as an “easy bake oven.”

I had the auto-switch on my cable box set for Grimm, but TNN replaced it.
It was un-funny, it was cliche, it was pattern script. I watched about 5 minutes and turned the channel.
hey, the american public bought into Will and Grace...
The SSAD (Same Sex Attraction Disorder) crowd does not contribute to the betterment of society. Their one agenda, crotch centered, is being placed above all else.
I currently have a large pumpkin plant with all Male flowers (over 35 so far) and not a single female. And just like the SSAD crowd, this plant will consume resources but produce nothing.
They cannot reproduce so they must recruit and to recruit, they must force society to believe it is just another choice.
