On Saturday, Carbonite CEO David Friend released a statement on his companys website declaring that Carbonite had decided to withdraw advertising from Rush Limbaughs radio show in the wake of his controversial remarks involving Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because it will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse:
Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.
However, it hasnt done much to contribute to his companys stock price. Since the market opened on Monday through its close today, Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points.

Bet the shareholders are less than pleased.
Having seen the woman, I have no idea how she gets so much sex.
Payback for cowardice is a b*tch, isn’t it? I’m guesssing the rest of the pack that tucked their tails between their legs and ran are probably finding out the same thing right about now.
Rush for years has talked about how Democrats are so CHEAP and do not purchase much from any advertisers anyway that losing advertisers generally has little affect and can always be replaced by better advertisers.
Who ever said it was with a guy?
Why else would she need birth control?
Why else would she need birth control?
Carbonite has been in a down trend for over a year..............
Former Rush Limbaugh advertisers (or parent companies) that lost on today’s stock market:
Capital One
Netflix
Polycom
John Deere
Geico (BRK)
Allstate
Citrix
Vitacost
Carbonite (Top 10 loss)
AOL
Intuit
Sears
Proflowers
She probably doesn’t, but she’s busy sticking up for taxpayer subsidies to a lot of sluts who do.
Where’s your backup on that big loss, Carbonerite?
As I recall, she argued for birth control, but didn’t specifically say it was for her.
I may be mistaken.
Too bad, crocodile tears how sad. :-)
Excellent!! I posted an article yesterday and posted erroneous research that all seven companies were private. Obviously and fortunately, I was wrong! I hope they all sink! Theres no way ProFlowers can survive. There are too many alternatives. Also, Ive ordered their product twiceonly as an implicit statement that I support Rushand had a bad experience both times. The first time, the flowers were delivered WITHOUT being arranged. Apparently, thats a given with long-distance orders. This year, I ordered tulips, as were pictured on their site. They sent me a bulb. in a little pot. Happy Valentines Day...heres a little pot, honey!! BTW, how’s everything going at nachumlist.com
You just know Rush is looking at the numbers and having a cigar and a big old glass of Tea! BTW, I would love to see the sales numbers on his tea over the last couple of days .... he hinted it was “all good” on Monday when he joked about trying to call and cancel his own advertising, but he got a busy signal! His Rush 24/7 membership numbers are probably up substantially as well.
Ding ding! You have mail!
