On Tuesday Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House committee on Oversight and Government Reform, took a major step toward holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for his failure to provide subpoenaed documents and other information about Operation Fast and Furious.

The central difference is that Iran-contra and Watergate were Republican “scandals”. F&F is a minor Democrat scandal where only one American was murdered with a USG supplied weapon. Nothing to see here.
I will second that. I remember all the times during Clinton’s 8 years that everyone fluttered around all excited “we got him now” and he would slither out of it.
Then the congressional hearings occurred over BATF scandals, among many others, and I heard the same “we got them now”
In the end nothing happened to anyone and nothing will happen this time either.
These people could call a press conference and commit any crime they chose on live TV and nothing would happen to them. Nothing. Exhibit (A) Marion Barry.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I must say, the highest level of blame goes directly at the media, simply for what they choose NOT to cover. Their complicity is sickening. In these recent times, many days go by when I cannot tune in to the daily political scene. I've lost all but the merest spark of hope and choose to spend what little time I have left trying to enjoy a day here and there.
I've, written, called, faxed, and made my voice heard everywhere I can, and the representatives who are supposed to be on the Constitution's side just lie down. How can one just watch it happen over and over again?
they sure dont want to handle this Fast and Furious though
Oh well, even Iran Contra as big as they made it resulted in a lot of indictments, a few convictions and a little bit of jail time, all pardoned
I dont expect much Congressional oversight to come from this one at all
I was referring to the typical back and forth between the WH and Congress. I guess during Watergate something like a subpoena was a bit unique so it made headlines. Now it is so common that it barely gets a mention- even on the internet.
It doesn’t help that we are dealing with people who have no sense of shame so trying to embarass them is futile.
I agree with you. It's time for cry baby Chicken Little to step aside and let a real man do his job.
We'll likely see Holder held in contempt and the "Obama" administration held to account for this right around the time that "Obama" reveals the truth about his past.
I don want any more articles on Issa is going to consider holding him in contempt,is taking steps to cite Contempt, maybe ,he might, Just do it or STFU!
JFK’s Presidency ended in 1963. Fifty years later he is STILL considered a great man and great president by many.
Yet he was debauched, all a myth, vicious, ruthless, unfaithful, predatory.
The complete liar, incompetent and adulterer Clinton is held in high esteem by many.
FDR’s Presidency ended in 1945. The great majority of establishment historians consider him a great man and a great President. In his case there is some reality to his claims of greatness — FDR’s surmounting of his lifetime handicapping polio is awesome. His aid to Fortress Britain, and even to the Soviets was great. His management of the war, good to VG, but not great.
Issa has pretty good staff in DC and have seemed willing to listen when I visited their office.
good ...
