Time has come for me to leave the chaos of FreeRepublic.
Over the past 13 years I always felt that FR was the home of Conservatives with core values that could not be compromised. This election cycle has shown me that I have been wrong in my assessment.
The lack of moral or intellectual commitment by many of the FR members has resulted in the end of my involvement.
I'm sure JR and many others are pleased but know that the early years were great experiences.
God Bless to all and enjoy the next 4 years of Obama.

There is no way in hell Ill vote for Gingrich or Romney. If they are nominated, an Obama victory lies solely with the GOP (as an aside, I probably wouldnt have voted for Perry either), not an individual voter who is exercising his right to vote as he sees fit.OK...and I'll admit up front that I might be wrong here, but....
Isn't what the previous poster is trying to say, this?: "If you can't find it within yourself to vote FOR a rino candidate, then for pete's sake, vote AGAINST the stain."
And your statement infers that if you don't get the candidate you want for the rino ticket, then you won't vote at all....am I correct?
Then, might it also be true that an "empty" vote on the rino side means a non-counterbalanced vote on the side of the stain!!
No indeed, the gop - regardless of how one may consider it - would not be at "fault" here just because they did not hand you your particular choice of candidate. It is an INDIVIDUAL decision for whom to vote (or against whom to vote as the case may be) and whether to vote at all.
A "missing" or "non" vote in this case could be defined as your preference for the stain over a rino candidate that is not of your choosing.
IMHO...and ONLY IMHO....there is nothing - repeat NOTHING - and NO ONE - worse than the stain.
Period.

I was addressing the FACT that a lot of former FReepers have been zotted and others have left voluntarily.
Yes, stupid is stupid and I guess they got tired of being called stupid by the stupid. There are too many Willie Greens these days!
Bottom line is, several weeks ago some people were laughing about zotting some old time FReepers. There are even more who have left voluntarily because they no longer wanted to be part of FR.
The unintended consequence is they all took their former FReepathon donations with them...many were longtime monthly donors.
We remember when FR had an influence...interviewed frequently on TV and radio. Those days are over! FR's reputation is shot!

Fights between brothers are always the worst. It takes a lot to get them fighting so when it finally comes to blows all the old grievances come out. That is where we are now. This is an ugly primary. It could be no other way. So long as everybody still things their guy can win the fight will stay ugly.
Now most of our guys (or girls) will lose or didn't run at all. So the question is what happens after the last punch of the primaries is thrown. If Newt wins can we get behind him as being a heck of a lot better than Obmaa. If Romney wins can we pull the group together to fight for the down tickent races.
This is a conservative activism web site, not a conservative pacifism web site. I may not have been here 13 years but have been cussed out and called every name in the book. And there have been times where I just had to log off for a week before I had a stroke or said something that would get me zotted. There is a time for cooling off and a time to bring the heat.
But whatever it takes to get our heads right we need to be here in September-November. There will be 469 federal offices on the ballot November 6. There will be thousands of state and local offices, all of which play a part. In such numbers we can all find someone to work with, some cause worth standing up for. Nothing worth having is to be purchased cheaply. If the only cost is to be hammered by some on-line keyboard warrior there are far worse fates. We must find the victories we can, even if they aren't at the top of the ticket.

You need to get out more.Could it be that marty60 is at a party you weren't invited to?
...And yet, when FR needs stalwart, uncompromising Conversatives to keep the flag upright against the wind and the artillery, you wish to throw down your weapon and desert?
You think FR is the only conservative site on the internet...and where you don't have to suffer playground bullies?
You need to get out more.

Get real. Four more years of obama will kill any hopes of ever seeing ascendent conservativism in the US.
He will get at least two more SCOTUS picks and that will guarantee forty years of activist marxist justices.
Stay home, vote libertarian, write in palin or vote for obama...the net will be the same...
Can you say, Chief Justice Sotomayor? Sure you can.

Yeah and If you Vote for Romney, guess what You Still Get all those Things! Romney is Ubama with less Melanin and More Hair!
So If he Does get the Nomination the GOP will have gone the way of the Whigs, and We will need to strike out and create a real conservative party, one made up of true Conservatives, true (not wacky lefties) Libertarians, Sarah Palin, and Kiss the Republican Party a long overdue goodbye!
