Atheist militant Richard Dawkins has produced a children's book entitled "The Magic of Reality" and in doing so has joined the Millstone Swim and Dive Club. Spreading his venom for God to kids under the guise of Scientism is about as putrid as it gets. Children using simple God-given logic conclude the existence of a creator. It requires an abandonment of logic to attain self omniscience and declare there is no God. The materialist's faith in the escape hatch of "there just wasn't enough evidence for me" won't wash on judgement day. Here's a book idea: The ghost of Christopher Hitchens, Jacob Marley style, appears to Richard Dawkins and sets him straight. Dickey would probably make a hash of it, too bad Hitchens isn't still around to write it.

RE: "every conceived" human (spirit): An already living child lives in the womb of its mother for nine months; and then it is naturally born into the world. Pace Peter Singer, when does it ever become "okay" to kill it?
Here's an intrusion (perhaps) from the "scientific side": At birth, the human brain "measures in" at an average of 200 cc. The human adult brain "measures in" at an average of 1300 cc. In other words, it takes about two years, after birth, for the human child to manifest standard human brain size — not to mention all the functional intra-brain linkages that could not possibly develop if the respective functional brain regions mediating such relations had not yet evolved.
Which, to me, is not a discontinuous problem from the standpoint of the child in question: who was conceived, who was born, and who continues to develop, post birth event. One single ensouled human being, from the beginning (i.e., conception): entitled by God's law and by Nature to exist and to thrive.
Only a quasi-living machine could be deaf and blind to this problem — the problem of LIFE....
Which is why LIFE needs to be protected in any civil society: There are a whole bunch of "thinking machines" out there who are perfectly clueless when it comes to problems of civil society. Indeed, such folks seem to think that if you don't like the "society" you've got, the best thing to do is to destroy it, and build a new one up on the razed ground....
LIFE has no protection against this strain of (diabolical) thinking. And no civil society could ever possibly be erected on the ground that has been deliberately razed.... Because the entire point of the razing was: To get rid of God and the history of man that has flowed from Him for more than two millennia by now.... Thus to erase, in the final analysis, any universal criterion of Truth in the world.
Our Lord speaks to us today in so many ways. For His communications to be received by us, his creature, takes "eyes" and "ears."
And if we've got "ears," we can hear Jackie Evancho. If we've got "eyes," we can see the splendor in the productions of Ms. Akiane.
Otherwise, it seems to me we are already spiritually dead. A condition most to be regretted, and eternally regretted....
God is speaking to this generation, through such epiphanies as Miss Evancho and Miss Akaine. And not just through them alone....
Hear O Israel, the Lord thy God is One God!!!
He sends His messengers and prophets as needed. All we need to do is: Pay attention to the Message He reveals through such messengers as the young "misses," so preternaturally gifted, so accomplished, so early in life....

I had a “stroke” a few years ago.. and the proper words
didn’t come out of my mouth but other words, words that
I was NOT thinking at the time.. came out.. My friends
thought I was mentally addled until I heard myself and
resorted to scribbling the words down on paper..
Amazing that this could be true.. and it was, I lived it..
But in all this I could compose emails just as before..
but the words didnt come out.. I mean “the Right” words didn’t come out.. I could speak, but strange words were
“mouthed”.. I considered this situation.. and came to a conclusion..
The the human brain was like a telephone(machine) that sometimes didn’t work correctly.. SO, what I did was
talk to my dog at home who could really understand language at all he just understand “attitude”.. and certain “sounds”.. Soon, I could speak a one word then two then three correctly.. then a sentence.. then two sentences like that.. Currently years later I can speak fairly well again.. Most of my spanish and french has gone bye bye.. but not all..
So, I contend that ideas are spiritual but speaking words thru a mouth takes a well oiled “machine”.. that can sometimes go on the “fritzz”.. like a telephone..
You always make me think, dear sister, about things I was not really thinking about.. I call that a “gift”... it should be recognized and honored..

In fact, I probably will spend less time on here in the future, as I don’t feel myself to be in good company as much as I used to. A lot of articulate, intelligent thinkers have either left or communicate mostly through Freepmail now because the “Geezus wuvs me” crowd has taken over.
Contemporary America is materialist, both philosophically and in terms of consumption. These two work together in that philosophical materialism reduces God’s spiritual image-bearers to material stomachs in constant need of filling.
God endowed spirit with two fundamental properties that distinguish it from matter. They are intellect and will...the capacity for true knowledge and moral goodness.
To live spiritually (Godly) is to live freely, because only spirit is free. To be reduced to matter is to lose the Light of God, thus the capacity for right knowledge and moral goodness with moral imbecility and sophistry the consequences. Denial of one’s soul is but one example of moral imbecility expressed outwardly as sophistry.
As materialism heralds death of spirit, it is the harbinger of slavery, of soul first, then of body. This is the real meaning of totalitarianism.
Thats one way of looking at “IT”.....
No doubt about the human body being a source for slavery..
You must feed, water, clothe and respirate it..
Then educate, breed, entertain, groom, bathe, and socialize it..
Not to forget challenge, exercise, compete, measure, and prove it..
Humans are pretty much slaves to it.. the flesh is a hard taskmaster..
Then you start a family and become a slave to other humans.. as well..
Spouses, children, family, in-laws, even friends, and neighbors..

I gather that when you had your stroke, some of the "circuits in your brain" (so to speak) were "deranged." But you have managed (it seems) to restore them. It's interesting that your French and Spanish facility has not yet been fully recovered.... I wonder why.
