As I have said before, it constantly amazes me to watch what the media describes as experienced senior campaign advisers fail to follow through and do their research. Know thy enemy is the first rule of politics 101 and yet supposed unbeatable campaign influence peddlers have failed to learn this lesson when it comes to Rick Perry. I t is downright amusing to watch the show.
<snip>
Perrys people will either leak something Perry has said that is damaging in the past or will leak something written to the media. It is either this or it is said in a debate or press conference. His campaign will give the opponent the time (perhaps a day, perhaps a week) to pontificate, make numerous statements to the media, put out an op-ed or a flier and then BOOM! out of no where comes the carefully researched counter punch from the Perry team. They will usually do it in the most public and splashy way-guaranteed to knock the opponent on his/her knees. He/or she will either have to back up their past actions or restate or renege on the ones just uttered. The opponent will have to have a hinged spine in order to whipsaw back and forth trying to re-cover. The opponent forgot to check for long term consequences before he JUMPED for the bait so temptingly hanging out there. I have witnessed this happen to both Karl Rove and to David Axelrods candidates.

“There are a number of Perry operatives using this technique on FR, if their posts are any indication.”
I don’t think so. BTW, Perry’s answers were as good as anyone’s on average tonight, but he needs to lose that brown suit. Did he hire Naomi Wolff as an Alpha Male consultant?
Cain had a couple of great lines, and Bachman seemed much stronger than she did during the last debate. Mittens seemed just slightly off balance on a couple of occasions, while Huntsman’s labored earnestness is beginning to come through as insincere. Newt had some really good moments. RP needs to rehearse his answers, and Santorum, while a fine man in many respects, needs to hang it up.
His supporters ARE legion. Wonder why that would be?
I do not, however, think their man achieved it tonight.
Underwhelming.
Paultards regularly get the zot here, there are even several graphics dedicated for that purpose.
Not buying the innocent act, troll-boy.
Cheers!
Uh, you might want to google “legion” in the New Testament: http://bible.cc/mark/5-9.htm
Ya think?
LOL, good post.
Cheers!
Gingrich won (why did he have to be so stupid with women?)
Perry was second: strong when needed, repentant when necessary, and stubborn at the right time. No doubt about it.
Cain was third and did very well.
Romney was bland.
Bachmann was on caffeine.
Santorum was busy using the pronoun “I”
Huntsman was talking to someone but I know I wasn’t the target audience.
Paul bounced between experienced statesman and mad scientist
Wolf Blitzer was ok, but clearly focused on Perry.
Greybeard, if I’ve told you once I’ve told you a hundred times, I’m a GIRL. Remember?

Axelrod wants Romney and your doing his work here
Always defending the indefensible.
All I know is that Michelle Bachmann did herself in with the Texas Tea Party tonight. We had already researched the Gardasil issue and put it to rest. She screwed up big time!
Squirrely Jon Huntsmann, (what a damned fool), did too with his border fence ‘treason’. Perry should do that idiot in with just one question. Say let’s build a 40 foot fence over 1200 miles of wilderness across Texas...my what a GRAND fence, except for one thing. Who’s going to stop anybody from climbing over it, cutting through it, or digging under it? Lizards and horned toads?
It seems like a big change, but in reality it's the same guy talking.
