That may well have been the Perry team's brilliant plan.

I do not, however, think their man achieved it tonight.

Underwhelming.

As the legendary Mrs. Whiskers pointed out to me after the debate, he REALLY hurt himself when he answered Bachmann about the Gardasil. Mentioning that $6,000 isn't enough to be a bribe, given that you've taken in $30 million in campaign contributions, makes it look like you only accept LARGE bribes. Like the old joke, "We've already established WHAT you are, now we're just haggling over the price."

Cheers!

Gingrich won (why did he have to be so stupid with women?)

Perry was second: strong when needed, repentant when necessary, and stubborn at the right time. No doubt about it.

Cain was third and did very well.

Romney was bland.
Bachmann was on caffeine.
Santorum was busy using the pronoun “I”
Huntsman was talking to someone but I know I wasn’t the target audience.
Paul bounced between experienced statesman and mad scientist

Wolf Blitzer was ok, but clearly focused on Perry.

Not from Texas. But I think Perry is a good and capable man, as much as one can be after a life in politics. It sure as hell beats a commie rich kid punk that worked at a Baskin Robbins. To me, Perry has the right positions, like Cain and Bachmann. But he is better able to make the executive experience case for a state government. Does he have a weakness or two? Yes. But nothing compared to Bluff Daddy.
