As the legendary Mrs. Whiskers pointed out to me after the debate, he REALLY hurt himself when he answered Bachmann about the Gardasil. Mentioning that $6,000 isn't enough to be a bribe, given that you've taken in $30 million in campaign contributions, makes it look like you only accept LARGE bribes. Like the old joke, "We've already established WHAT you are, now we're just haggling over the price."
Cheers!

...but I take this far more of a statement that "at two hundredths of one percent of the campaign war chest, this contribution doesn't rise to the appearance of impropriety."
There are serious questions, not regarding the contribution, but the campaign manager helping out his old client by sticking the bill on the insurance companies, who we all have to pay for. And this is all mitigated by the fact that HPV can indeed be a problem.
But to say that Perry's retort is proof he's a whore is a couple of bridges too far.

I actually thought that was one of Perry's better responses.
It showed the absurdity of the charge that he decided on Gardasil because he was on the take for the massive sum of $5000.
It would have been much better if he had put his pinky to his lip and made the statement "Dr. Evil" style though.

Getting the measly figure of the donation is critical to get rid of that ridiculous charge. We have bundlers raising hundreds of thousands for all the major candidates, and some on our side are charging crony capitalism over a tiny donation, hardly larger than the max donation of one citizen.

Definitely a remark best left unsaid, however innocent he may be of any wrong-doing.
