In what is arguably one of the worst political events in US history, the election of Obama, we are forced to stand by and watch the piecemeal destruction of our very nation, the very political, economic dismantling of this great country of ours, the greatest country in history, by what is the greatest, most insidious nemesis America has ever known or faced.
The wisdom and sagacity of our forefathers providing for the all-encompassing political contingencies as law of the land having stood the test of time, yet not having foreseen, imagined the nightmare scenario which we are in midst of enduring, may not endure through.
Our forefathers having confidence in the people as fundamental principle of government, the decision of the people as being sacrosanct, averse to tampering with terms of elected officials thus having made no provisions in which to reverse, hold up to inspection, the validity of their decision, in mid-term, with a constitutional provision of 'Motion of No Confidence' that has worked so well in Parliamentary forms of government, such as Great Britian.
Indeed, despite overwhelming unpopularity of our past presidents in serving out their full term of election, our country has survived intact.
But with the current White House occupant I am not very secure that our country will manage to recover from the cataclysmic forces ripping it apart from within and without, the deliberate, irreparable evisceration, destruction of the very institutions that has made America the shining city on the hill, this bastard of a politician who dares call himself a citizen let alone the leader of the greatest country ever.
Every day I cringe, every day I grit my teeth with every decision this bastard president takes monumental jubilation in tearing down all that which through the centuries, our very patriots, soldiers, every day citizens paid for with their lives, every day I am filled with worry, sorrow pondering the fate of our country, wondering how we are going to endure, survive another two years of such wanton, deliberate political, economic implosion of the United States of America.
Yes and the election of 2010 reflects that attitude of most of the nation.
Nah, why mess with the Constitution? We already have impeachment.
He should get the opportunity to show his birth certificate or resign, no questions asked.. sans pension, SS protection and exile to some small base off the coast of Cuba
As bad as he is I’d hate to see the US revert to parliamentary type of government as they have in Europe. Every time you turn around they’re having another election. Then too, the VP would move up. Do you really want Biden as president?
IF there’s still a Constituiton in two years.
NO. We brought this on ourselves, one person didn’t do it. We should start by encouraging people to get back into church, then go from there.
I agree 100%.
I’m still waiting for just ONE member of the GOP to challenge his authority. So far not one has had the balls to do so.
I also weep for our country every day that the usurper is in office. His goal is, without question, to destroy all that is good about America.

No.
An official way for the states to nullify might redress the current imbalance between the states and the federal system.
Of course not. The presidency is too much of a popularity contest (and too poll-driven) already. We need future presidents to have the freedom to do things that are unpopular at the time, as Lincoln, Reagan, and GW Bush did. Not every president is a disaster like Obama.
An official way for the states to nullify might redress the current imbalance between the states and the federal system.
A far better solution, I concur...

In the meantime, we need to elect a veto proof conservative Congress and Senate. Maybe the nation needs to collapse into total chaos to get the American people to realize that Obama cannot be re-elected in 2012.
One of the things that makes the USA so stable is that we have a set time for elections, set terms of office and set powers for the elected.
You start making things depending on the whim of what the country feels at the moment then you undermine that stability.
Yes, yes, yes, a parliamentary system with the POTUS as a figurehead, a pretty face, and an executive prime minister, who can be canned at any time along with his cabinet. What we’ve got is an American King George, an utterly archaic system, when 200 some years later other countries have developed constitutions based on our bad experiences.
What is really heartbreaking is that the Communists, who call themselves Progressives and some other benign labels, have figured out our system and how to subvert it.
With all that, your “should” question and my opinion and the flames I’m provoking are totally meaningless, as the chance of a meaningful change and reform in any area (say, taxation, Social Security) in this country is and will remain below zero Fahrenheit!
And I’m an optimist.

O-FAIL, which stands for Obama Financial Anxiety Index Level. O-FAIL takes all of the world’s instability, hysteria, currency woes, fears of energy disruption, terrorism and war — and encapsulates them into a single, easy-to-understand number.
(Number hasn’t been this high since James Carter was President.)
No thanks. Parliamentary democracies are a mockery of government. Italy has had tons of elections since 1945; various others can only form coalitions for short periods in order to govern. I prefer the stability of our constitutional republic with its defined positions, elections, even in its currently degraded state.
