I’ll be heading to Upstate NY to my 6 million acre backyard known as the Adirondacks

It’s too far and cold for the NYC pansy liberals to find and close enough that if I really needed something I could make it into Canada

Unfortunately the south including Texas are not exactly safe, the liberals have done a good job at pitting the races at each other to the point where if society does break down the races are going to turn on each other (Liberal whites are going to be the 1st victims and deservedly so), so you don’t want to be anywhere that’s too diverse.

Weather, community going downhill (I don’t speak Spanish), traffic congestion, escalating property taxes, want to be closer to the recreation activities we enjoy the most. We want a more rural and scenic landscape and a smaller retirement home on a 5 acre parcel. Can’t afford that package here.

Well, I know one can be pretty much off the grid there. I’ve lived near the Arctic Circle in the north of Scotland before so I’m used to the temps. I didn’t realize you had a bunch of hippies there though. I guess no matter where one decides to hold out one will have to be self-sufficient and know how to survive the wild.

I can only speak for my self from Northern Idaho, but a few years ago we had lots of Californians coming up here. That has now slowed, in part because many in CA are underwater in their homes and don't have the massive equity they once had. Additionally, although we are a job-friendly state, we still struggle (like everybody else) with unemployment near the national average.

It doesn't make much sense to move to Idaho if you are just adding to the unemployment roles.

All that being said, We welcome like-minded folks, but discourage those who want to bring their California thinking with them. A “conservative” Californian, is more like a liberal Idahoan.

The Northern Tier agricultural/ranching states will be the most stable. Some have oil and gas resources which help. States such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, both Dakotas, Nebraska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas, Iowa, Colorado. Those would be the best states. Full of boring Nordic Scandinavians and Germans and other relatively sober types. Meth users could be a problem when the SHTF

But if oil/energy skyrockets Southern states will have their own advantages in that at least you won’t freeze to death

I think you are correct in ND and TX cause they have energy. I think states with energy and food will do the best

In any Depression it will be back to the essentials of human existence. Food and energy to cook it and stay warm and run machinery and automobiles. Nebraska is ideal being an agricultural superpower that exports and brings in foreign money to the United States

Cold weather, snow, ice and democrats, yep we are use to hardships....and the city folk don’t know how to hunt 4 legged critters, so thats an advantage.

Sitka Alaska has lots of islands, some are for sale, nice houses on some.....just need a boat. Not a lot of people, and the weather isn't as bad as other parts of Alaska...It has a great Russian influence in the buildings and the catholic church is onion domed...

I have drank 1 (one) beer in the last 25 years. I drank it on a cruise to Cozumel. I don’t have any use for the stuff.

My County is dry and the downtown area is clean. The neighboring town is wet. Pawn shops and signs for bail bondsmen are very common. That downtown isn’t clean. Crime is a lot more common there also.
