SAD was told by the consulate to put his name down and strike it to indicate he was being removed because he had Indonesian citizenship.

And you know this how?

She followed the clear instructions on the form, keeping the name visible.

Please show me exactly where in the instructions it is said to write down a name and then strike it out.

Obama had exclusive Indonesian citizenship in 68.

Okay. If that's true, then there must be a public record of him renouncing his citizenship before a US counsolar official. Why is it that no birthers to date have been able llocate this record?

“Holding dual citizenship with Indonesia would be irrelevant to his eligibility...”

Tell that to the U.S. State Department:

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1753.html

“However, dual nationals owe allegiance to both the United States and the foreign country. They are required to obey the laws of both countries. Either country has the right to enforce its laws, particularly if the person later travels there. Most U.S. citizens, including dual nationals, must use a U.S. passport to enter and leave the United States.”

That being said, if Soetoro was an Iranian and U.S. citizen, which country would he be forced to represent?

You’re argument is not only ignorant, it’s downright dangerous!

Nice quote. Unfortunately, it doesn't support your point argument that dual nationality disqualifies an individual from the presidency.

You’re argument is not only ignorant, it’s downright dangerous!

Perhaps, but it also happens to be correct.

"Perhaps, but it also happens to be correct."

Keep telling yourself that. The fact is, no one can lead a nation while having to answer to another nation.

It's called a conflict of interest, something just about any person on the planet understands if they've ever worked for an employer. The UN also agrees with this, no matter how "new world" they are.

Yes, the President is employed. Well, he's SUPPOSED to be employed. He does take a paycheck from the United States Government and so far as I can tell, doesn't sit on a throne all day (that's if he's not eating buttery IBS-inducing lobster 20 times a week). That little tidbit can be found in a little piece of paper called the U.S. Constitution. It's very insightful if it's read and understood in its original context.

Oh, and anyone who is a dual citizen will not be granted secret clearance. Why is that? And why does the usurper in chief get special permission to waive this requirement? Before answering with a "Constitution forbids it blah blah blah", the answer can be found in the definition of "Natural Born Citizen" itself.

I blame this lack of understanding on the liberal whitewashing NEA and their merry band of Union goons, so I do pity people who've fallen into the socialistic trap of "higher education".

Oh, and anyone who is a dual citizen will not be granted secret clearance.

Y'know, somebody should really let Tom Tancredo know this before he wastes his time running for President again. Since he almost certainly has dual citizenship with the U.S. and Italy.

It's funny how no one ever claimed he was ineligible during the campaign.

That’s not completely correct. There were quite a few people who filed suits against numerous unqualified candidates, including McCain and Colero, who was born in South America but managed to get onto the ballots anyway. Several made it up to the Supreme Court but were rejected. And rightfully so. The cases were not filed correctly.

No one claimed Tancredo was ineligible because nobody cared as his chances were virtually non-existant for a win. Citizens of the country don’t know the nuances, nor care about the Constitution until it jeopardizes their liberties.

You make a very valid point. He should have never made it on the ballot as the Secretary of every state in the union is responsible for ensuring unqualified candidates remain off the ballots. They know the laws, and there was clear uncertainty as to eligibility with certain candidates like McCain. How Calero remained on state ballots when numerous other states set a precedent by removing his name speaks volumes as to the lack of accountability these governments possess. They swore oathes to the Constitution and they have power under the supreme law of the land to to what they can legally to protect it.

Unfortunately, that's not true. I agree with you it is a bad idea to have a dual citizen as president, and I would certainly think twice before voting for a dual citizen. I did not vote for Tancredo. However, the fact is there is nothing in the Constitution prohibiting it.

That being said, we know Obama is NOT a dual citizen. He was born with dual citizenship with Kenya, but he lost it when he was in his early twenties, since he never took any action to retain it. We also know for sure he was never an Indonesian citizen, as to become one he would have had to renounce his US citizenship, and there is no record of him having done so.

"That being said, we know Obama is NOT a dual citizen. "

Do we? When he was born he was a British Citizen by birthright. Since he only claimed his Kenyan citizenship lapsed on his 21st birthday and the fact the Kenyan Constitution expressedly protected his dual citizenship with the UK until his 21st birthday, he was and still is a British Citizen unless he can prove otherwise. Some may argue he became solely a Kenyan Citizen, but if you read carefully, you will see this only applied to citizens residing in Kenya at the time of its independence.

You don't just "lose" your British citizenship. You have to renounce it after your 18th birthday. It's actually harder to remove British citizenship than it is U.S. citizenship.
