Indeed.
Already in the works. The same guys that successfully argued McDonald v. Chicago have been preparing for it.
This may give them the standing to file.
She is an idiot.
A disgrace to all of us who live in NC
Recall that under President Bush, law was passed to allow the military to be used against civilians under emergencies. I’m glad that part was overturned.
No problem.
Well, actually in the case of the dove hunters I can see it. In a hurricane they must be going, what, 140 mph? I don’t know of many who can hit a dove going 140+. It is a recipe for heartache and tears.
As for the rest of it, I would ignore it. Fight it in court if necessary, then get the law changed. Didn’t they learn anything from Katrina?
Governor Perry would never declare a State of Emergency? Wow.
Speak for yourself Ace, not everybody accepts bullsh*t.
You would think that a state of emergency would be just the time youd want to have your firearm(s).
Exactly why most people would ignore this B S.
That’s right.
Yeah, right... you need to look no further than the NOPD and Katrina to disprove your own statement.
Well my theory is once they suspend the 2nd Amendment the Government can do anything it wants. Including quartering soldiers in your home.
If we don't have any guns and Soldiers who carry guns come to our doors and say "we are living here now what's for dinner?" what are we going to do? File a protest at city hall?
As is understood for law-abiding citizens, folks should keep their guns at home. Wandering out packing heat during a civilian crisis is the intent. Don’t do it. If somebody comes to your home to take it then its one shell at a time.
Bullshit.
IF this is going on in North Carolina, it is happening because the Legislature there wants it that way, which means that the voters who put those people in the Legislature want it that way.
If you live there and dont like it, you have my sympathy. If you voted in the Legislators who did this on your behalf, I really dont want to hear any of you bitch. If you dont like it, work harder next time and dont lose the election.
Sorry if you dont like that, but it isnt my job to tell you what you want to hear. Someone must tell you what you NEED to hear...

Ooooooo! Whupped up on em like their mama was chasing em with a stick! Youch! I can’t disagree with ya!
What the heck are you talking about?
How could they possibly violate it?
When endorsing TX Gov. Perry this year, the NRA wrote:
His accomplishments also include signing the following bills into law: extending the term of a concealed handgun license from four to five years; protecting shooting ranges from junk lawsuits; clarifying an individuals right to carry a handgun in a motor vehicle; preventing the confiscation of firearms and ammunition from law-abiding citizens during a state of emergency; and reducing fees by 50 percent and lowering the age from 21 to 18 on concealed handgun licenses for active-duty military and veterans.Good to see that!
I don’t think this passes the smell test.
Have been trying to find another article about this and have found none.
That's only police who are also "good guys", and that's not all of them.
Damned democrat!
So there should be no State of Emergency?
The provision kicks in under State of Emergency, as passed by the legislature.
