The Lemba tribes in Zimbabwe have oral tradition that their ancestors were "Jews" who left Judea about 2,500 years ago and settled in a place called Senna, later migrating into East Africa. After 2,500 years of exile, British DNA tests have proven that the Lemba traces its linage to the Kohanim (Priests) of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem,
After entering Africa, the tribe is said to have split off into two groups, with one staying in Ethiopia, and the other traveling farther south, along the east coast. Some settled in Mozambique, and eventually migrated to South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Most Lembas are are either Christian or Muslim in faith but they follow many Jewish customs. Marriage to other Lembas is preferred, with marriage to non-Lembas being discouraged. The restrictions on intermarriage with non-Lemba make it particularly difficult for a male non-Lemba to become a member. A woman who marries a Lemba male must learn the Lemba religion, dietary rules and other customs. She may not bring any cooking equipment from her previous home, as it may have been tainted by inappropriate use (not-Kosher). Initially, she may have to shave her head, (which is a requirement in the Torah for soldiers to marry captured women) Her children must also be brought up as Lembas. Lemba men who marry non-Lemba women are expelled from the community, if the women refuse to live according to Lemba traditions.

Couldn’t find my “well known” participation in those anti-Mormon threads... huh? ... LOL ...
Your posting history is clear and available for all.
Whats the problem, kid ???
need to retake mormonism 101 ???
OK Professor Nana is here to teach you...
Mormons are not the 11 lost tribes or ther 12th tribe or anything to do with Israel...
nor do they figure in any future prophecy other than as a false and pagan religion...
mormons are Anti-Christians...
Mormonism is not Christianity...
Pop Quiz coming right up...
Please don’t post these self proclaimed ideas about what I supposedly am supposed to believe. They will not get a response, nor do they deserve one.
In fact, I won’t be posting again on this topic unless there is something relevant to add to the OP.
We have known the Ethiopian Jews (most now living in Israel) have existed for quite some time now. It is not in doubt that they followed ancient Jewish law and have done so for many centuries.
I don't understand why it is not logical that there are other long lost Jewish traditions throughout that part of the world that could be traced back to the ancient Holy Land.
Your posting history is clear and available for all.
As is all FReepers... just go to their home page and click on the "In Forum"... what's new? ... :-)
But, having said that... you'll find lots of posts (for the Religion section) about Israel, the Messiah of Israel, the Rapture, the 7-year Tribulation coming up, Bible Prophecy about the last of the end days [per the Bible], about Jesus, being the Messiah of Israel and setting up his Kingdom over in Jerusalem, when He returns to the Mount of Olives and sets foot in Jerusalem, along with the "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem" threads... and so on.
I can see why you would refer to those things as "anti-Mormom" since Mormonism doesn't teach them or agree with them... :-)
The only problem is that I didn't mention "Mormonism" while posting about these things... LOL ... They were just "Christian postings" and not "Mormon postings".
BUT, yes..., I can understand how Mormons would feel about Christians posting things from the Bible about Christianity -- it would definitely feel like it was "anti-Mormon"... :-)
There are Chinese people who have Jewish blood in Kaifeng. One Chinese lady converted back to Judaism a few years ago. Many Jews actually went east, not south, during the diasporas.

“And no, the references are not just about Jews (Judah) but also all the other 11 tribes whom the Lord has scattered across the Globe.”
Oops, your mormonism is showing.
All 12 Tribes are Jews.

Christian Identity: Jews aren’t really Jews
Seventh Day Adventists: Uh-oh
Years ago I read “The Sign and the Seal: The Quest for the Lost Ark of the Covenant” by Graham Hancock. He traced the journey to Ethiopia.
I recall reading another book that speculated, with reasons, that the Ark of the Covenant ended up in the Zimbabwe/north-eastern South Africa area. Perhaps someone here knows about this 2d book.
Thanks for the ping.
Makes sense because the Ark of the Covenant is in Aksum, Ethiopia.
Imho.

A "male"? Are they mere animals? The appropriate term is a "Lemba man".
Okay busted. I’ve never been to Ethiopia, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn in Cairo one time.

Not all. Some left Judea when the Babylonians invaded and escaped to Egypt.....................
Wow, nice! The closest I've come to that is the Quality Inn in Cairo, Illinois. ;^)
You say “Lemba,” I say “Schlemba.”
Btw, I heard they have a couple great comedy clubs down in Masvingo.
Wasn’t all this info on documentary several years ago?
