Here is video of Fox News' Megyn Kelly going ballistic during a segment discussing Michael Vick's public plea for forgiveness in a 60 Minutes interview last night, and his return to the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kelly does not believe he should be given a second chance in the NFL. As she discussed the topic with panelists, she got increasingly upset as what Vick did was described as a "mistake." That's when she went ballistic, saying:
"How can do you condone giving anybody that shows that side of his character a second chance."Kelly clearly believes Donte Stallworth's manslaughter conviction was not as bad as what Michael Vick did.

A thief, a tax cheat, a small time drug user or dealer, these kinds of people can do their time and be accepted back into society. Maybe they made mistakes. They may become decent people. On the other hand, an evil creature like Vick can do his time, but the act marks him for life by virtue of having done something that is pure evil.
Megan never said that he can't be employed, she just doesn't think the NFL should hire him and pay him big money to perform for fans after the kind of crime he committed. I agree.
I say...he served his time and he should go back to work.
The fact that he gets so much money for his job seems to
be what bothers people, as if he’s being rewarded for his
crime. But, it just so happens that his job pays alot.
We will just have to see if he learned a lesson in jail,
perhaps he will give some of that money to some children’s
programs, atleast I hope he does something constructive to
show he has changed...
And Megan it’s okay to rethink this and say maybe you were
wrong...please don’t be like the President and not admit
that it’s a possibility you might be wrong...

I agree with you - he should have known better.
He has payed a price and he lost millions in addition to the brief amount of time one has the ability to compete at the pro level. A person does not get those years back.
But, he did not kill a person drunk driving or rape a person or leave a person to drown. He paid a price for abusing dogs and breaking laws.
Vick admitted that he provided most of the money for the gambling side of the (dog fighting) operation. The NFL does not allow its players to be involved in any form of gambling, and even first-time offenders risk being banned for life.
In an interview with NBC Sport commentator Graham Bensinger published in January 2009, Blank reflected on the fact that Vick initially lied to him, “our coaching staff and a number of other people in our organization that he wasn’t personally involved.”
It actually pains me to see this with Pitino, because he was a mentor to Billy Donovan and his son has just joined Donovan’s staff at UF.
What Vick did was terrible. But, I noticed Kelly often stands on a soapbox. Not surprised at all that she would hold the crime of animal abuse higher than, as she put it, getting “drunk in a bar, and you have a bar fight, and it winds up really hurting somebody.” That’s a mistake, according to Megyn. In her view, Stallworth made a “mistake”, though he spent only 30 days in prison. Then she compares hurting animals, “the most innocent among us,” to crimes against children.
Animal abuse is horrific, but come on, Megyn...
That said, now that Vick has been signed to a team in my neck of the woods, there are a few pitbulls I’d love to hire someone like him to “take care of.” I’ll take everyone’s word that there are sweet, lovable pitbulls. I feel sorry for any innocent animal who’s mistreated. People who mistreat them should be punished. But, some pitbulls really do need killing, and I can think of a few who pose a serious threat, have gone onto other people’s property and killed smaller animals.
As a coach, I think Pitino is top notch. As a person, I think he’s a step below the slime on a slug’s belly.
I’m sure Billy Donovan is less than thrilled about the news coming out regarding Pitino these days.

Vick did not throw games or bet on them. That’s direrctly related to the outcome of games.
It might be different if it was just animal abuse. It was much more than that. It was profiting from gambling on animal killing not just abuse where he put up most of the money. He was also involved in selling drugs where other people used his vehicles to do it. You don't think he knew about that?~
Child molesters who served their time...YET they have to avoid schools, parks, REGISTER AS SEX OFFENDERS.........why is that? Hmmmmm Does Vick still have dogs?

People get irrational about Vick because of their emotional attachment to their sports. Seriously there was a thread on here a while back about Lyndie England of Abu Grab fame unable to find work after being released from prison. I don’t recall many Freepers supporting her.
But on the other hand because Vick is a sports star he is special to many sports fans. Lets face it for too many fans if the star player of their team was arrested for rape or murder and they was on the jury they wouldn’t convict no matter the evidence. I would hate to know the percentage who would do anything to keep their star player playing if the guy had raped and/or killed members of their family.

A better question is how long will it take before Vick is in trouble again. His brother Marcus has been in and out of trouble/controversy since at least as far back as 2004.
Look I’m not saying that there were not some really bad examples in sports over the years. I am saying it is a highly visible position and people in that position tend to be hero worshipped. I don’t think this villain should be held up as someone children would like to be like when they grow up.
I suggest you list the villains in all sports and boycott those teams so that children will learn that we won’t tolerate people doing their prison sentence and then wanting to seek gainful employment. Good lesson for the kids.
