Fox News' Megyn Kelly Goes Ballistic on Idea Michael Vick Should be Given a Second Chance - Video

Here is video of Fox News' Megyn Kelly going ballistic during a segment discussing Michael Vick's public plea for forgiveness in a 60 Minutes interview last night, and his return to the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelly does not believe he should be given a second chance in the NFL. As she discussed the topic with panelists, she got increasingly upset as what Vick did was described as a "mistake." That's when she went ballistic, saying:

"How can do you condone giving anybody that shows that side of his character a second chance."
Kelly clearly believes Donte Stallworth's manslaughter conviction was not as bad as what Michael Vick did.

Kelly closed with a direct shot at the Philadelphia Eagles, saying she will not be "patronizing that organization until Vick is gone." . . . . . . (Watch Video)

Also, no network would ever hire OJ as an analyst again. OJ will never be cast in more “Naked Gun” movies and you won’t see him in any more Hertz commercials.

Yes, Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame.

Disagree, he bet on his own team. Now you might say, "what's wrong with betting on your own to win?"

Sometimes it's better to lose a game, than to go all out to win it, like having your closer pitch two innings instead of one, which would leave him unavailable for the next game. It also serves as a signal to other bettors. Also, what happens on days when Rose didn't bet on his own team? That could have been interpreted as a "signal."

So now that you know that Megyn wasn’t saying what you accused of her, you agree that your initial comment, “ok, so all felons who serve their time should never be employed. gotcha, meg” was unwarranted?

I haven’t heard him say why he thinks what he did was wrong either. Of course maybe he has, but in everything I have seen this simple statement is always missing. You would think he would be saying it all the time if he was sorry for what he did not because he was caught but because it was simply wrong.

That’s right. You can’t treat regular season games like they’re Game 7 of the World Series.

I know Megyn Kelly’s outrage has nothing to do about gambling.

I appreciate that you are consistent with your judgment regarding Rose and Vick - I have met some folks who see the issues as completely separate. (I disagree - I believe the gambling is intrinsic to “trusting” either.)

I remain unconvinced regarding Vick playing. But I don’t make that decision, anyway.

Have a great day, FRiend.

Yes, it is wrong. He went to prison. He’s out. His occupation is playing professional football.

Michael Vick was given a second chance, by the criminal justice system. He's now a free man. The question then becomes, does he deserve a second chance to be rich almost beyond imagination.

Not beyond imagination. The really big money comes from endorsements and he's not getting any. Also his contract has alot of incentives and if he plays spectacularly enought to cash in on those than I would bet that means he is keeping his nose to the grindstone and away from all the other nonsense. If Vick hypothetically started some unrelated business and ended up well off would you begrudge him that too? What I would object to is Vick profiting from his crime, like selling the movie rights or something. A second chance is just that and nobody will be there for him if decides to piss it away. On the other hand, if he pulls his act together, it will be a nice example for all the people who get out of prison and don't have anywhere near the opportunities. They are the ones who are more likely to return to a life of crime.

True. Just look at how much money Kobe Bryant lost out on in endorsements, and he wasn't even convicted.

why the hair splitting?

if i had said, 'all felons who serve their time should never be employed by the profession which enabled their crime' you would have a point.

but a financial crook should be allowed to play on the PGA tour if he is good enough to consistently shoot 10 under par over 72 holes.

Let me know if you ever hear Vick explain why he’s sorry for what he did. Until then, I’ll continue to think that, as you say, he’s sorry because he got caught, and if he hadn’t gotten caught, he’d still be enjoying fighting dogs and killing the losers. Of course, we didn’t even mention that he was one of the chief promoters and enablers of the entire heinous process since he was the rich guy in the mix...

No, the ones who KILL INNOCENT ANIMALS for "FUN" & PROFIT shouldn't be given a second chance to earn MILLIONS playing sports! Let him get a job cleaning dog poop for all I care but he shouldn't be allowed to enjoy playing a sport!

I saw part of the interview and I guarantee you he is NOT SORRY for what he did. He is sorry he got caught. Once he has a chance to earn his MILLIONS he will give the 'fans' the finger and 'move on'. You just watch!

I think Rick Pitino deserves as much scorn if not even more than Vick...

You bet - as a native Kentuckian and a pit bull owner, I am more disgusted at Pitino then I ever was at Vick.

People get irrational about Vick because of their emotional attachment to their pets. If he had been fighting roosters holding bullfights, the outrage would only be 10% the current level.

The problem is/was - he’s a dope-smoking, immature, pitbull ghetto glorifying, hip-hop culture loser, womanizing, conduct unbecoming a leader, poor example for the youth and league, THUG.

Isn't his brother about the same type of character?!

Exactly, have people forgotten about “Ron Mexico.”

The fact he went straight to a strip club after being released, suggests that his spots have not changed.

I wonder if the Eagles have to play at Cleveland this year. Don’t they have that “dog-pound” in Cleveland?
