Sarah Palin: Statement on the Current Health Care Debate
facebook ^ | Aug. 7, 2009 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 08/07/2009 1:45:04 PM PDT by Al B.

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

Dude. If you’re criticizing Palin for using Social Media to get her message out, I’d suggest you look in the mirror, and tell us all if you like what you see.

I’m sorry. When you posted the original message I had no idea what you were referring to so of course I had no clue you were referring to that. I had written a lot of stuff after wards so I thought you were talking about Romney. Again, I apologize

As far as “trashing” in no way was a I referring to you. I think what we both had was a huge misunderstanding. I was referring to the other person, but when you read your post, I didn’t know what you were talking about so I was responding to the other person. Again, I am really sorry for any confusion

Hm. Strangely underwhelming”

To who exactly?
99% of Freepers who have read it(including me), think it's great.

It's not bad as copy (first draft) for a TV political ad.”

Try harder will you.
That attempt at a put down fell as flat as a pancake.

But as a “statement” from one who wants to portray herself as a party leader, it's sadly inadequate”

Funny
Her statement sounds better to me than anything I have heard from Juan McCain, Romney, Steele or any of the so-called “leaders” of the Republican Party on 0bama’s Deathcare Bill.

Her only concrete recommendation — if you can call it that — is “We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate.”

Which is exactly what angry conservatives, independents, and even Democrats, who are incensed with this horrible bill are doing right now.

Well, Sarah, you're a big girl. If you want to “step up,” you shouldn't waste time with invitations to “step up.” “

Step up to where exactly?

If you really want to be a leader, you should be jumping into this with a serious, detailed discussion of the health care issue — something that requires a serious response. “

The only thing that matters right now, is to KILL the 0bama Deathcare Bill. It's an evil bill and needs to die for the sake of the good health and peace of mind of Americans. That's all that matters.
The fact that out current health care system is not perfect, doesn't mean we should replace it with something that is a million times worse, and is still going to end up costing us TRILLIONS of dollars.

All we got here is a whine. Nicely written, but a whine nonetheless.”

I am not sure what statement you are reading, but from where I sit, there is nothing that comes even close to a whine in Sarah's statement. It sounds like a robust declaration of war against 0bama’s Deathcare to me.
On the other hand, your entire post a a very long, pitiful whine, with absolutely no substance whatsoever in it. A gratuitous attack and throwing of stones that make no contribution to the discussion in any way whatsoever.

If Gov. Palin were leading among a party of hard-charging hotheads, I’d say an extended, measured discourse might indeed be leader-like and in order.

But the Republican Party is awash in process wusses and wafflers. The last thing we need is a typical, meek Republican political statement while the Democrats put our seasoned citizens in their rationing sights.

Indignation and plain speech are perfectly appropriate for the situation and the moment, and that’s what she’s delivered.

The "death panel" words are spreading out. ADN has a blurb on her words and now HufPo has something. This choice of words , Obama's "death panel" will be THE story about healthcare this weekend. She knew exactly what she was doing when she wrote them.

Huffington Post: Palin: Obama's "Death Panel" Could Kill My Down Syndrome Baby

The attacks this weekend will be brutal. Time to rally around this grand lady.

You have been flailed mercilessly for your comment. I think you should be given a chance to prove you are right. Please post what she should have written.

Yeah, I already sent her a private message apologizing to her. I just got so darn confused because a bunch of RomneyBots were writing me so I really had no idea what she was referring to when she said “Maybe it’s the other way around” I just assumed it was another RomneyBot. This thread started off so good but got infected by some bad apples which made what was supposed to be a great discussion into everyone fighting

I seriously doubt Sarah gives a rats behind what the liberal media thinks of her. Of course they will be brutal, she can’t take a piss without being attacked. She is speaking her mind, I LOVE IT. She knows what’s coming and doesn’t give a damn what drones say about her. “Death Panel” IS PERFECT. I never even thought of that comment before, at first I had no idea what she meant but then I figured it out. She is BRILLIANT

The attacks this weekend will be brutal.”

That's just the cleverness of it all. You see, everything in her article is right on the button, and everything she said IS in the 0bamacare bill, so the more they attack her over the weekend(and they will, they just can't help themselves), the more they spread the news that there is indeed a “death panel” in 0bama’s Deathcare bill. Most Americans didn't even know that. The more people hear about the "death panels" the more angry they are gonna get against 0bamacre.

Time to rally around this grand lady. “

Oh she will be just fine. This is a nice carefully laid trap for the moonbats, and they are gonna fall right into it. She knew exactly what she was doing.
