Sarah Palin: Statement on the Current Health Care Debate
facebook ^ | Aug. 7, 2009 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 08/07/2009 1:45:04 PM PDT by Al B.

As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

Do you want me to post the email that you sent to me last week telling me that you were NOT a Palin Basher. Are you doing this all for show or what

Reading Sarah’s words literally brought tears of gratitude and pride to my eyes. I am with her all the way.

So, who is going to be the good citizen and report this whole thread (and Gov Palin’s statement of course) to the White House “snitch list”?

Never, ever in my worst nightmares have I imagined that the president of the US would ask the citizens to become modern day Pavlik Morozov:s (the young pioneer who is supposed to have sent his father and uncle to death during collectivization).

If your standard is Peggy Noonan, than you’re taking your measurement from a sink hole.

A call to arms is by definition brief. Anyone expecting a call to arms to be a dissertation is like the fool who tries to tell you how the watch works when all you asked was, “What time it it?”

Hm. Strangely underwhelming.

You mean your reply, right?

Careful followers on the debate have read about EE before now. She may be a GB fan, but I think she’s not so new to this issue.

He sent me an email a week ago claiming that he is NOT a “Palin Basher” fortunately for me I saved it. For someone who is supposedly not a Palin Basher, he sure loves coming here and smearing her doesn’t he. Death Panel is BRILLIANT. I had never heard anyone reference his deathcare as Death Panel before. Just wait til this goes viral

The wording was perfect, and since hundreds of thousands of people visit her facebook page, PERFECT place to put it. I bet she starts speaking out more about this death care. I hope she attends the 9-12 tea party

Awesome! Short but to the point. “Death Panel” should be the new way to describe Obamacare bureaucracy.

Five paragraphs on a Facebook page. Politics the Britney Spears way!

That actually shows how she understands the landscape of American youth, and she uses it to the max! Things change, whether we like it or not. Internet social network is part of the current and future American life. It would be a fool not using it for political purpose. The 0bama knew this, and they used FB for their election campaign effectively!

FirmBss is quite possibly gay or radically pro-abort, (two groups that most hate Sarah Palin).
And, besides Wonkette, FirmBss has also cited (as a reliable news source) The Daily Kos.

I agree that no one should use her image without her permission. I agree completely. But doing that is against the law. If she doesn’t approve of them using her image, she can stomp on them at once. Happens all the time. Woody Allen just stomped some clothing company. And lots of professionals plan their engagements a year in advance. Pro atheletes do. Heck, when I was a teenager I’d book rooms for science fiction conventions a year in advance. I’ve no intention of being a “Palin basher” that’s why I limit myself to one or two Palin threads per day so please pardon me using fr-mail for this reply. I don’t want to litter up Palin threads with my contrarian posts. See you around the forum. — theFIRMbss

Careful with that statement about the class of 98ers on FR.

I held my nose and voted for McCain ONLY because of Mrs. Palin.

I have no qualms about the intelligence or the leadership qualities of Sarah Palin. I am sure she would be up on all issues pertinent to the office and know her Constitutional limitations.

Those of you who look down your noses at her are elitist snobs and miss the point of a candidate for ALL of the people, with crowd and intellectual appeal for and to everyman.

I would think so. I am also confused about what gender theFirmBss is... the music teen idol girly profile page, the adulation for Peggy Noonan, the admitted faible for “Wonkette” and catty hatred for Palin all strikes me as pretty (liberal) feminine, teen age girlish or... pardon me... gay.

Can you imagine Pawlenty or RINO Romney speaking out like this?
Read how clear and righteous this is. This is from the heart. There is no double-speak or the usual GOP "well, here's our plan, it's slightly less-socialist!" crapola.

If Palin is not the GOP nominee in 2012 I will write her in.

Kind of wish Palin was less attractive. Think that tends to be distracting. When I listened to Margaret Thatcher, I knew I was honestly analyzing her words. Maybe I'll just close my eyes and listen, but then her voice is attractive too. Oh, forget it. I just try to think if she looked like Rosie O’donnell would I like her so much? I've been to a rally. In person, she has a presence.

She posted it on facebook because if you have noticed that her facebook page has over 700,000 followers. That is how she is getting her message out. The media won’t report on what she says so this way millions can see it and come to their own conclusion. If you remember, during the campaign, the media said how McCain was “Out of touch” because he never used the Internet and didn’t know how to use it, Sarah is showing she knows how to use it. She is spreading her message with the Internet which is MORE powerful then spreading it in the media. How do you think Obama got started, he started with spreading his message through the Internet

I was responding to Obama’s plans and the graph, discussed in post 32. Read that post, then read mine. It should make sense.
