Republican Senator Judd Gregg was Obama’s first choice for the Secretary of Commerce post, and Gregg was actually considering joining the Obama team, until he found out that control of the US Census was being stripped from the Commerce Department and placed under the direct control of White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel.
Then, the same week that Americans learned that they were “domestic terrorists” -- at least according to Obama’s new DHS (Department of Homeland Security), -- if they own a bible, a pocket Constitution or guns, and still believe in Life, Liberty and Freedom, - they also learned that Obama’s Census Bureau had hired thousands of new temporary employees, equipped each with a handheld GPS computer and sent them out to mark GPS coordinates for every residential front door in America.
Oddly, it was this same period that news was breaking of an international flu pandemic, suspected of being a weaponized strain of the virus never before seen, - and that Obama’s team still sees no need to close the US-Mexican border, despite the cross continental spread of a deadly illness now claiming American lives.
Now, if any one of these events happened alone, one might not get too excited. But when a string of such events happen all at once, one begins to question the string of freedom and life threatening coincidences...
I can’t resist the urge to question the authority and purpose behind such a BIG BROTHER initiative, when the official Census itself is not due to be taken until 2010...
No imagination is required to think up a whole laundry list of evil that could be done with a nationwide GPS grid of coordinate’s markers painted on every private home across the country. But I was having trouble thinking up one good reason for it, even one legitimate use that would justify what must be a very expensive undertaking.
According to one of the Census workers, who spoke with me on condition of anonymity, they must GPS mark the coordinates “within 40 ft of every front door” in America and they are supposed to complete that mission nation wide, within 90 days, by the end of July 2009.
The workers were not told why they were GPS marking every front door. But a supervisor is sent out to follow them door-to-door, to make certain that no door is left unmarked. Every door will be marked by one employee, and then checked by a follow-up supervisor.
So, I had to ask, why?
Why does the Obama administration need or want the latitude and longitude coordinates for every home in America ? Why the rush to GPS paint every home in the next 90 days? Why must the marker be within 40 ft of every front door? For what possible purpose does the Fed need GPS coordinates for every home, and under what authority do they have the right? Census workers, whom I asked, had the same holy-crap look on their faces that I had by then...
The only information they are getting from this household is how many people live here, period!
If what you say is true, call the number on the paper she gave you. She will be fired. That is not what is supposed to happen at all. Report it. It sounds to me like she is poorly trained or just an idiot who got instructions wrong.
If everyone would read the notice you are handed you would have a better understanding of your rights and what is going on.
Sheesh. These people going door to door are just peons, they don't know anything. They have all been fingerprinted and passed a background check...which is more than we can say for the POTUS. I can't vouch for the brainpower of these people, but if they go by the book you shouldn't have any problems with them.
Yeah! That made me think of the right wing extremist attacks on the military—from DHS, but I didn’t want to put a tin foil hat on. (Ie:ptsd and gunownership for example)

I was talking with my husband about this story tonight, and now this story isn’t making sense. As he pointed out, anyone can use a GPS now to find a house.
The fact that ACORN will be connected with the census is disturbing. But, the GPS part of the story doesn’t make sense. Or, am I missing something in the story?

They wont put anything on the door, they will simply punch it into the computer and it will be sent up to the satellite and bounced down into a database somewhere
Jeff. Sitting right here next to my computer is a piece of paper that a census worker left for me. She, too, had a hand held gizmo...she SAID HERSELF, that she was from the census...and wanted to know if this house had any outbuildings used for housing purposes. And, she said the "regular" census workers would be around "next week". That was a couple weeks ago...
So far, no one's come by....
When they forced kids in safety seats I said nothing because my kids were older.
When they instituted seat belts I spoke up, but no one listened. It was for our own good, I was told.
Then they targeted the smokers and no one cared because smoke stinks, dontchaknow.
Now they want to track our every move.....

Again...SHE GAVE ME NOTHING. All she said is that she was from the census bureau and was mapping the neighborhood.
I DO have a problem with a stranger parallel parking across 4 spaces on MY property and start wondering around without seeking out someone to get permission.
That is exactly what my thinking was. No tin foil necessary. Some of my guys are very concerned about that ptsd/gun ownership thing.
Yeah, but just as Homeland Security went sinister once O took over, so did the Census Bureau.
The Bush administration initiated policies that were relatively benign while he still held office. But all of the machinery was left intact for the bad guy who moved in after him. Who can blame O for making use of the gifts left for him?
We moved to the “sticks” in the Ozarks of Missouri from Texas in 2006. We had to get our address from the 911 office and our address was determined by GPS. Seems like we are already in the system from that. I thought that it was just part of the 911 program.
Someone was here from the Census Dept. a few weeks ago. She was carrying the GPS locator. I didn’t talk with her, my son was in my yard and spoke with her. I will have to ask him what she wanted. I didn’t even think anything about it at the time.
*smacks head* It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. I'll try to do better at remembering these constant changes from now on.
