I am so grieved by the travesty that occurred this evening in Washington. I am saddenned and extremely concerned for the future of our country and am looking for a way to express it.
Whatever happened to the activism of the 80s?! I remember seeing news coverage of groups of people picketing with "throw the bums out" signs, sending tea bags to Washington, the term limits and divided government concepts being debated on talking-heads shows.
Are any organizations leading the charge here? I know there are Freeps in Washington, but there has to be something we here in fly-over country can do--and I am sick of calling dem staffers who could care less about my views.
I came up with several ideas---flying flag upside down, sending tea bags to Washington, some sort of ribbon or bumper sticker campaign
--somehow conservatives need to start building momentum to mitigate this disaster. Any ideas/thots
You can suggest it, including the Idea of supplying them to the troops to attach to their helmets.

Netizen: Well I experimented on the 4 x 6 cards and image looks great—I only had the lined on hand, but may just go ahead and print with them anyway—or can cut down some extra posterboard into 4 x 6 cards. Thanks for making this for me!!
A shame that our elected “Representatives?!” will not receive before Porkulus bill is signed into law. However, from what I heard on news today, there are more laws coming down the pike, so will have plenty of use for postcards.
RE Postcards: So for those of you following this thread, I am going to start sending these 4 x 6 cards with glasses images on them to my senators and others. Purpose to get their attention and let them know that I DID NOT APPRECIATE their NOT EVEN READING THE DA** thing prior to the vote :( Tho image fits on a 4x6 card, could be on a letter too. Netizen has also put up other images, so feel free to join in. I will be putting my stamps on upside down....
I am starting with the Glasses, but will likely move to another graphic—There are many great ideas here—O. has plans for many more taxes, I think they can all be used—I am John Galt, The Tea Bag, the Don’t Tread on Me theme, the “Tapped out Stickman” I think it would be great if EVERYONE would send something—we can coordinate it by bill/action that is being protested or just have people randomly do this—doesn’t matter to me.
RE flags: I was PM’d by one Freeper that Ebay is good source of cheap flags. That said, if there are known conservative sources, even better.
My 24.5 yr old son (a Ron Paul supporter) offered his opinion that flag upside down is disprectful—only military and government use, said inappropriate—pretty adamant about it. So, still not sure about which flag to use, but I am leaning towards another flag? Navy Jack??
I don’t want the focus to be the fact that I inappropriately flew flag upside down with family members or anyone else, I want focus to be the fact that the country is in distress!!! Just want to send the right message yet not make the flag the message. Want window decal as well.
RE Ribbon: I am getting black ribbon. If I can get red white and blue striped ribbon, will combine. I will wear on coat to grieve for my country. Simple, to the point. Death of Freedom, Constitution, Capitalism. Take pick!
RE Media: Ultimate sacrifice: I will begin to watch CNN and MSNBC looking at advertisers for MSM and posting addresses either here or in new thread and writing them. As the Chicago Tribune calls every 2 or 3 weeks, I will continue to tell them that I am concerned about the economy due to the ineptitude of Washington and fact that they are way to liberally biased in their political and economic coverage.
Also would like to start a new thread with daily Pork pulled from stimulus bill as people discover it.
I did see that Facebook has a FR group. I will make up a FB later today or tomorrow. If you have a FB, PM me and I will friend you :) I’ll sign the Grassfire petition mentioned earlier in thread as well.
Finally, and most importantly, I am going to pray—specifically for my family, my country, and our troops.
Oh, and I will pray that God give wisdom to our leaders (that is a prayer for huge change!!!).
So this is my start to doing something. I can’t just sit by and watch doing nothing. Please feel free to join me, make suggestions, let’s keep this going and get momentum going for something more wide-spread, large-scale.

Just my opinion, but, I think we would make more impact by sending one image/theme at a time. We can change as we need to.
You know, we can put 'I Am John Galt' on index cards, too. I even like the Obama Kool-Aid graphic. Could add 'Stop Drinking the Kool-Aid', under it. Lots of things we can do with the cards, while doing the flag thing and other things as well. There are lots of people here at FR, much more talented than I am, but, as a group we can come up with all sorts of things.

Yeah, I really would hate for some vet to drive by and misunderstand. I have a question. Does D.C. have their own flag? If they will be represented now, will they have a flag? If they have a flag, THAT is the one to fly upside down!

Thanks so much! this was a great post to wake up to—cheered me up as I was not happy after listening to WLS talk radio chicago 890-am chronicling the latest dem/Rollan Burris scandal.
Burris is the Senator appointed by Blago to replace O. Well our “transparent” state legislature SAT on an affidavit for NINE DAYS that would have stirred up lots of controversy over potential perjury on part of Burris—he did talk to Blago’s relative after initially denying it? Anyway had Burris not been seated, Porkulus would not have passed?
Question of Day:Is Porkulus even legal if Burris is not legally entitled to be senator?!
