The other side is really coming unglued about this. Here is what one said: "[That] is not what we see here on Democratic Republic".

The author was severely chastised for this typo (Freudian slip).

There is nothing I would rather see than the socialists/marxists/progressives bolt from the dem party and hoof it on their own. It may help legitimitize the democratic party. Yes. Clear the ranks. Let the dems shake the scum from their feet and let the SEPtic party slide back to the privvy from whence it oozed.

Dummies are so entertaining.  Their web site is back up, and here is what the big dummie has to say (edited for profanity).

Sucks to be us right now. It's true, the vote didn't go the way we wanted it to. But I think we have a lot to be proud of. I think it is fair to say that without the liberal blogosphere, there wouldn't have even been a fight. So that's something that you all did. You should be proud. At least now they know that we aren't going to sit back and do nothing while our country goes down the toilet.

I know that we're all pretty upset right now, and we're all dealing with this in different ways. Some of us want to find support amongst our DU friends. Some of you want to vent. We have asked the mods to back off a bit, to give you all room to blow off steam a little. But we don't have unlimited tolerance, so please.. Just don't act like a d**k.

And if you're in a really bad mood, and if you feel like disrupting or pissing people off -- please turn off your computer right now. We don't want you to do something that you might regret in the morning. There is no shame in logging off of DU.

Point taken.

BTW, I've been checking out your FReep page. Please thank your daughter on my behalf for her service in Iraq. Our brave men and women kick some serious butt over there!

Geee .. that's interesting .. I remember the "senate vote" on impeachment - and there was an electronic counter - or was the vote taken in the House - or did the station I was watching have the counter ..??

Did you see the Nomination Description: "Rear Adm. (lh) Mark A. Hugel, in the Navy, to be Rear Admiral"?!
---
Just to explain:
There are two ranks of Rear Admiral, Rear Admiral(Lower Half) and Rear Admiral(Upper Half).
"Lower Half" is equivalent to a one star general, "Upper Half" is equivalent to a two star general.
Note the "(lh)".
Now you know.

Well the JurassicPork blog at least tries to narrowly define it more:

"The 4 Amendment means nothing to Alito because he once agreed that a cop could kill an unarmed thief who was trying to run away."

Didn't convince me...and anyone who knows how I write on FR...can be sure that, if the liberals had anyone with brains on their side, I may have been convinced there was a problem (if Alito were pro-tobacco for instance).

Actually, Alito just may have ruled once in favor of tobacco companies...but the abject failure of the liberal blogosphere or the Democrats or the MSM to get that across to me...tells me to keep a wide berth from them as people and not vote for them.

Thanks - I'm sure this fellow is fine and dandy (and deserves speedy confirmation). It's just that we were wondering why the Senate is using his name in vain, that's all ; )

From DUer named 'stillrockin':

"I was blind with anger and first, now I am weeping quietly at my computer. I don't know what can be done. I went through the 60s/70s and never dreamed things would get even worse. My brain will just not accept that these dems are fucking sellouts. But that is what they are. I despise them to the depths of my soul."

LMFAO

If nobody's worried, why post their junk?

What's the point of crushing the enemy and seeing him driven before you, if you can't enjoy the lamentations of the women?

"No more right to choose soon enough. I feel totally sad for our young women and the disabled (who Alito hates too)."

And I feel sad for all the children that never got a right to choose thanks to this legal infanticide.
