I'm not one to gossip monger...unless it's really compelling and at least likely true (and benefits our side!).
I read on a blog that I frequent that the latest Swift Boat Ad will be the coup de grace. (sorry for the French). It shows Kerry burning an American Flag. I even called the blogger to check the sources. He says it is still a unconfirmed rumor, but if his source is as reliable as it has been - then it's very credible. Also, some say that it's been mentioned on Hannity's radio show? Regardless, I don't KNOW that this is true, but if it is...and I like the chances of it being true, than we can all plan on meeting at Inaguaration Day up in D.C.
Thank you.
I am now fighting an overpowering urge to jam knitting needles into my ears and eyes.
And I think it's going to be a long, long time before that urge will go away!
A long, long time! :-)
You gotta admit, it is mind blowing and you never will forget it! And nobody sees the last 1/3 coming, either, and the 'gracious' Shatner basking in the crowd's applause is a must-see also!
Bernie Taupin's intro to the song (which isn't online it seems) really is wild, too - seems like he would rather be anywhere else on the planet but at the 1978 Science Fiction Film Awards!
LOL
I heard him (Corsi) deny it on Sean's show. Unclear to me, though, was whether he was talking about film showning Kerry pissing on the flag, burning the flag, or both. In any event, if such film exists, it would have to be somehow authenicated -- it's too easy these days to fake this stuff. For example, I was at a location that will remain nameless this week and saw Registered's picture of Fonda and Kerry together at the same rally (and told them it's fake).
I suspect an October surprise, if any, will not come until after the end of the debates and likely will have to do with his service record given they have only released but a fraction of what's there. However, even that may not help much because the White House and even Cheney as recently as Tuesday night have recognized Kerry's service in Vietnam as honorable.
What the he!! was that!!! OMG.... LMAO
"B-1 Bob Dornan was on TV the other day holding up flags that Kerry was dealing with saying that Dornan followed Kerry for 8 hours. He said that Kerry waved the Communist flay (Dornan held up the flag), then he said that Kerry burned an American flag (Dornan held up the burnt flag)."
When was this "other day"? I saw B-1 on TV (Fox?) several weeks ago with the flags. IIRC, he did not say Kerry waved a communist flag, or burn an American flag. He did say he was near such activity, but did not actually do it.
I said it was mind blowing! I'm glad it made you laugh - that's the preferred reaction!
So if a video like that can be under the radar for decades, I suppose anything could be under the radar!
"...I have dedicated part of my life to spreading the word on this mind blowing 'interpretation' of Rocket Man..."

Well, I have heard of stranger things...
but not many...
I kind of agree. Anything short of a flag-burning video would not have an impact...but I disagree that such a video would not hurt Kerry...it would be massive.
Agreed. There is probably no such video. I think that John O'Neill debunked this. I would not be surprised if VVAW burned a flag as an organization, but that kind of thing was a little too radical for Kerry. It just wasn't Kerry's style.
"Stewie" did this on an episode of Family Guy.
Yep, and it was over almost everyone's heads I think, though it was funny in itself.
Word is getting out, though! Shatner's Rocket Man is an ICON!
Someone around here posted that John Kerry's first campaign for congress derailed because of this footage- I don't remember details but I would LOVE IT!!
But could it make hippy types that were apathetic think he is cool and go out and vote for him?
I like your rumor....I like it aloat.
We all have our callings, DefCon. This one is mine! :-)
I have little doubt he did it - I just hope it exists on film.
An ad I'd like to see them make is footage of his recent comment, "I've got your back," followed by any number of responses. If you had been a POW in Vietnam and had to hear him talking about having "your back" now, what would you think?
"Like you did in the seventies, Mr. Kerry? No thanks."
Didnt somebody on Sean Hannity's show recently say that there was video somewhere of this?
Oh, somebody already mentioned that.....silly me.
