Yawkey Way is no more. On Thursday, Boston’s Public Improvement Commission unanimously approved Boston Red Sox owner John Henry’s request to change the name of Yawkey Way, according to the Boston Globe. The street will now be known as Jersey Street, its original name.

"Forever" was the word used by the team in a press release sent Wednesday announcing the new terms of their relationship. BOSTON -- Four fans seated above the Green Monster at Fenway Park dropped down a sign that read "Racism is as American as baseball" during the fourth inning of the Red Sox's game against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night. The team promised to distribute Ortiz bobbleheads to the first 15,000 fans entering Fenway Park before Boston's game against the Yankees, but Red Sox president Sam Kennedy said he elected to postpone the promotion after doing a quality check. The Red Sox on Tuesday confirmed the death of third baseman Frank Malzone, who played for the team from 1955 to 1965. Malzone, 85, was a six-time all-star who had a career .274 batting average with 133 home runs and 728 RBIs. Malzone played the final season of his career in 1966 with the California Angels.
