Yawkey Way is no more. On Thursday, Boston’s Public Improvement Commission unanimously approved Boston Red Sox owner John Henry’s request to change the name of Yawkey Way, according to the Boston Globe. The street will now be known as Jersey Street, its original name.

Tom Yawkey was a Red Sox owner who was said to be against racial integration in baseball.
“Yawkey” refers to Tom and Jean Yawkey, who owned the Red Sox from about 1935 to 2000. Tom was a good old Southern boy who was less than enlightened regarding the Negro population. As a result, the Red Sox were the last team to have a black man on their roster.
This has been translated by the Leftists that run the area as meaning that the Yawkeys were racists of the highest order, unfit to have a garbage dump named after them, let alone the street in front of the ball park where his team plays.
The real irony of all this kerfuffle about racism is that, until the mid-1970s, Boston’s school system was as segregated, if not worse, than most major cities in the South. Oh well...

Tom Yawkey became president of the Boston Red Sox in the 1930’s and was the sole owner of the team for 40 some-odd seasons, longer than anyone else in baseball. They named the street by Fenway after him, but as it turns out, he was against integration in baseball. Supposedly, he protected a pedophile after allegations came out as well

Having worked and lived there for some time I can honestly say the liberal Boston is one of the most, if not the most racist city there is.
Yawkey also had his and his wife’s initials painted on the left field scoreboard...in Morse Code.

There is a pic of a dark body orofice in place of his name in Who’s Who.
