The TSA chose Meg McLain for special screening. They wanted her to go through the new porno-scanners. When she opted out, TSA agents raised an enormous ruckus. When she asked some question about what they planned to do to her, they flipped out. TSA agents yelled at her, handcuffed her to a chair, ripped up her ticket, called in 12 local Miami cops and finally escorted her out of the airport. There has always been a desire to maintain credibility and integrity on Free Republic. That is eroding with each new, Obama, birth certificate story. Many of those creating this ruckus claim are flying a false flag of Constitutionality when it is actually an effort to paint all Conservatives with the broad brush of conspiratorialism of the most dangerous kind. A Pittsburgh police commander says a volunteer for the McCain campaign who reported being robbed and attacked near a bank ATM in Bloomfield has confessed to making up the story. Police say charges will be filed. More details to follow.

A judge has now assessed attorney’s fees in the suit filed by Wharton County Republican County Chairwoman Debra Medina against the Republican Party of Texas. The suit, which alleged irregularities in how party convention delegates were selected in three counties, was dismissed just before the state convention in June. The plaintiffs were assessed $14,500 in attorney’s fees so far with the judge specifying further fees depending on how far the plaintiffs choose to appeal the original ruling. If the plaintiffs unsuccessfully appeal all the way to the Texas Supreme Court, their attorney’s fees could run as high as $39,500.
