OKLAHOMA CITY - A metro man is behind bars after allegedly posting terroristic threats to a social media site. Authorities said the post by 28-year-old Brian Carey led to several people being concerned about their safety at a pair of Oklahoma City malls. "Judgement day will come this week at the Penn Square Mall and outlet mall. May Allah be with those who believe and there will be mass bloodshed and horror as I Allah will take vengeance on the scumdogs of the western world," the post read. "Officers were able to make contact with this individual later on in...

OKLAHOMA CITY - You may have heard of civil asset forfeiture. That's where police can seize your property and cash without first proving you committed a crime; without a warrant and without arresting you, as long as they suspect that your property is somehow tied to a crime. Now, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has a device that also allows them to seize money in your bank account or on prepaid cards.

A strong right to keep and bear arms amendment to the Oklahoma state constitution was killed by the Republican leadership at the last minute. They did this by running out the clock in the conference committee, by not voting on HJR 1009. The clock ran out on May 19th. The tactics were similar to what was done in 2014. This year the measure was passed with overwhelming votes in both the House and the Senate. It passed the House 66-7. It passed the Senate 39 to 7. That is by 90% and 85% respectively. Obviously, the measure was wildly...

The Oklahoma legislature has passed HB 3098, the bill to restore permitless open carry to Oklahoma. The bill passed the House 73 to 15, and the Senate 37 to 9. Unless it is stopped in conference committee, it will be sent to Governor Mary Fallin. Two years ago, in 2014,Governor Fallin, (R) Oklahoma, vetoed a number of bills in what has been described as a “tantrum” on the 29th of April. The legislature overrode one of the bills. It is unclear if Governor Fallin would veto HB 3098, which passed with veto proof majorities. I have read the bill,...

House Republicans are trying to kill HJR1009, OK2A's proposed amendment to the state constitution that would strengthen the right to keep and bear arms at the state level. This right has been weakened to the point that the state courts would uphold almost any restriction on the right. It is critical that Oklahomans have a second layer of defense (through the state courts) because the federal courts are unlikely to overturn restrictions such as magazine capacity limit laws, etc. If passed, HJR1009 would go to a vote of the people on the November 2016 General Election ballot. These Republicans are...

On April 27, 2016, Governor Fallin signed the latest in a series of knife reform bills. The bill, HB1159, will go into effect on 1 November, 2016. The infringement on the carry of knifes dates back to early statehood at the beginning of the "progressive" era. Text of the 1921 Oklahoma Criminal Code, pages 523 to 525, shows that specifically named knives were forbidden for most people to carry. It seems that the laws were enacted enbloc from other states, as some of the statutes seem contradictory. The 1921 text refers to laws from 1910. Oklahoma became a state...

The restoration of the right to keep and carry weapons continues in Oklahoma. On 20 April, SB 1159 was sent to Governor Mary Fallin for consideration. The infringement on the carry of weapons had been put into law not long after Oklahoma became a state in 1907, during the early “progressive” era. There are several sections listed in the 1921 Oklahoma Criminal Code, pages 523 to 525, published in 1921. The sections covering the carry of weapons are sections 1798 through 1806.1798 is the state constitutional guarantee of right to keep and bear arms, which then perversely grants...

On April 20, the Oklahoma Senate voted 37-9 to pass legislation recognizing that the Second Amendment is a sufficient open carry permit. The legislation, HB 3098, had already passed in the House by a vote of 73-15. According to News 9, the Senate passed the bill via “a procedural move that forces the bill into conference committee” for one final look before it heads to Governor Mary Fallin (R). If changes are made to the bill while in committee, it will be brought back to the Floor for another vote. The decision to return to committee came after some senators...

Oklahoma Second Amendment Supporters, particularly OK2A, have been pushing for a reform of the state Constitution's weak protection of the right to keep and bear arms. The reform has strong support, but has been bottled up in committees. The reform is needed because current Section II-26 has been ruled by the Oklahoma Supreme Court to offer little serious protection. Here is the current version: The right of a citizen to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person, or property, or in aid of the civil power, when thereunto legally summoned, shall never be prohibited; but nothing...

Aubrey McClendon, a founder and former chief executive of Chesapeake Energy, died in a car crash Wednesday at age 56. This is breaking news. Please check back for updates. McClendon was indicted Tuesday and charged with conspiring to rig bids for oil and natural gas leases while leading Chesapeake Energy. The alleged conspiracy took place between December 2007 and March 2012, the indictment said. The companies are accused of deciding who would win the bids, then giving an interest in the leases to the other company. The Justice Department did not say which other company it believes was involved in...

The conservative group Club for Growth is set to launch an anti-Donald Trump advertising campaign in two states voting on March 1. The organization, which supports anti-tax policies, has purchased nearly $1 million in commercial bookings in Arkansas and Oklahoma on TV and digital platforms, according to a source familiar with the buy. Both states hold their primaries on Super Tuesday, when about 25 percent of the party's delegates are to be awarded as a dozen states hold their primaries. The offensive comes at a time of growing consternation among some in the Republican Party about stopping Trump. Numerous polls...

Just received a phone call from the Donald Trump Campaign asking if I would be voting for Mr. Trump in the Republican primary. (Oklahoma) I said I went to see him at the OKC fair grounds last September, but after the past few months I've decided that under no circumstances would I ever vote for "Trumpy." Young man was very nice and said thank you, have a nice evening.

John Davis, Creek County Sheriff in Oklahoma, is doing what he can to encourage armed citizens. He recently lowered the fee for fingerprints from $25 to $10. He says he is not allowed to reduce it to zero. From tulsaworld.com: In a letter from Sheriff John Davis posted on the Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, he wrote "As a result of the ever-increasing violence being committed upon the American citizen and the current state of our country, I encourage each citizen of Creek County who is legally able to fully utilize their Second Amendment right 'to keep and bear arms,'...

Catholics from around the nation are calling upon officials in Oklahoma City to revoke a permit that will allow a Satanist to publicly desecrate a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Christmas Eve.TFPStudentAction.com is reporting on a petition drive that is asking the city to rethink its plans to permit Adam Daniels, the same Satanist who staged a black mass in the city last year, to pour stage blood over a statue of Our Lady. Convicted prostitute was filmed underneath john in parked truck DECEMBER 4--An Oklahoma prosecutor has filed criminal charges against an alleged hooker and her john after a drone operated by an anti-prostitution activist recorded the pair trysting in the man’s truck. Amanda Zolicoffer, 27, and Douglas Blansett, 75, are each facing a misdemeanor public lewdness count in connection with an incident earlier this year in Oklahoma City. The criminal case against Zolicoffer and Blansett (seen at right) is a result of the work of Brian Bates, an Oklahoma “video vigilante†who has long recorded hookers and their clients in the act....

In the face of college students far and wide complaining about emotional “triggers†they see and hear, annexing “safe spaces†where opposing views can’t hurt their feelings and even threatening free speech, Everett Piper is seemingly fed up with it all. The president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University began his recent open letter to students with a story it appears he could hardly believe himself. “This past week, I actually had a student come forward after a university chapel service and complain because he felt ‘victimized’ by a sermon on the topic of 1 Corinthians 13,†Piper explained in his letter...

democrats are celebrating an upset from Tuesday night. For the first time ever, democrats hold a seat for House District 85, which includes part of The Village, Nichols Hills, and Quail Creek. Cyndi Munson beat republican challenger Chip Carter with 54% of the vote…even though Carter raised nearly twice as much money. Munson is a first generation college student with a Political Science degree, and recently worked as a community programs manager with the Girl Scouts of Oklahoma. Her seat was previously held by David Bank, who passed away in April. His wife, Odelia, and current Governor Mary Fallin were...

On December 16, 2013, Michael Berdahl, 66, shot and killed David Wimmer, 43. Wimmer was visiting Berdahl at his apartment in Enid, Oklahoma. Berdahl fled, but was arrested the next day in Anthony, Kansas. He had a pistol on his person, and admitted to the shooting. Bond was set at 1 million dollars. Berdahl did not make bail and stayed in jail. The trial took place on 1 September, 2015, more than 20 months later. The jury was out for little more than an hour when they came back and rendered a not guilty verdict. Berdahl's use of warning...
