Federal prosecutors Monday said they will bring the remaining seven Oregon standoff defendants to trial on the same conspiracy charge that led to the acquittal of the occupation leaders this fall. In a joint status report, the prosecutors also said they'll ask to delay the Feb. 14 trial by two months and add misdemeanor charges against the defendants. None of the recount efforts has changed the presidential election – despite the price tag – and that’s also true now in Nevada, which just concluded a partial recount. According to a press release from the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office on the evening of December 8, the Nevada recount found these changes: Hillary Clinton lost 9 votes. Donald Trump lost 6 votes. There were no other changes found in the state that Clinton won. The state will not conduct a statewide recount because so few errors were found.

Independent candidate Roque “Rocky" De La Fuente has requested a recount of the results of the presidential election in Nevada, his campaign confirmed today's De La Fuente said in a statement Tuesday that he is asking for recounts in Florida and Nevada “to create a nationwide awareness of the vulnerability of our election system” and to ensure that “your vote counts for the candidate for whom it is cast.” Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has made similar recount requests in recent days, moving to challenge election results in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Las Vegas gun shops are looking for guidance after Nevada voters approved a ballot question extending firearm background check requirements. Question 1 passed on Election Day by a narrow margin — much more narrow than polls predicted — cementing background check requirements for private-party sales and transfers into state law.
