Joe Biden made a promise in the Senate men’s gym to keep Anita Hill‘s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee “very quick,” according to former U.S. Representative Pat Schroeder. That promise was apparently made to then-Senator John Danforth of Missouri, a Republican. Danforth was Clarence Thomas‘ chief sponsor during Thomas’ 1991 Senate confirmation hearings. In a wide-ranging interview with the Washington Post on November 16, Hill and five of her biggest congressional boosters–all former or current female Democratic politicians–sat down to reflect on the strenuous ordeal that Hill went through during those hearings. Without fail, each of the six women...

School officials in a Missouri community were making plans Tuesday to discipline a “non-white” student whom they said had confessed to writing a racial slur and the phrase “White Lives Matter” on a mirror inside a girls’ restroom at a high school. Parkway schools Superintendent Keith Marty said in a statement Tuesday that the revelation that a non-white student was involved was surprising, but it did not “diminish the hurt” caused by the incident at Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield. "The behavior was wrong and the student will be held accountable for this serious act according to our student...

With winter fast approaching, one of the deadliest Kansas City road construction seasons in recent memory is coming to a close. Crews last week removed the concrete safety barriers along the Interstate 435 pavement reconstruction project in Overland Park. ItÂ’s one of several road projects that have caused major crashes, inspiring the department of transportation in Kansas to add rumble strips to the I-435 project. The first season of the two-year project is complete, and crews re-striped the highway over the weekend. The 140,000 vehicles that travel that road every day now can move along the original lanes. The $16.34...

In 2016, Missouri generated 96.5% of its electricity with fossil fuel and nuclear power, 1.6% with hydroelectric, and just 1.5% with wind and solar. The St. Louis Metro Area did roughly the same. But now, by royal decree, the St. Louis City Crown has made it clear, the climate must be perfect all year – and by 2035 the city will somehow, magically be powered by 100% “clean, sustainable” electricity. The Board of Aldermen unanimously passed a resolution calling for this to happen – via tougher energy efficiency measures and a transition to wind and solar power. The decision was...

Here Are Some Interesting Details About The Way U.S. B-2 Bombers Trained Over The U.S. To Strike North Korea By David Cenciotti Some unusual activity took place in the skies over Missouri a couple of weeks ago. Including B-2s referring to air strikes on DPKR target on the radio. Just routine stuff or a message to Pyongyang? What appears to be a medium size exercise, involving several different assets, took place over CONUS (Continental U.S.) in the night on Oct. 19 and Oct. 18, 2017. Tons of military traffic, including B-2s and B-52s bombers, E-3 Sentry AEW (Airborne Early Warning)...

A former Republican lawmaker and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations blasted President Donald Trump in an opinion piece published this week. Former Sen. John Danforth, R-Mo., wrote in The Washington Post that Trump is not a true Republican because of one main reason: he stands against having a unified nation.

Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley announced Monday evening that he is running for Senate in 2018. The young Republican may prove the most formidable challenger yet to Claire McCaskill, who is widely seen as one of the Senate’s most vulnerable Democrats. Hawley, who is popular and well-connected in Missouri, enters the race an instant frontrunner in the Republican primary. In his announcement video, Hawley skips straight to his general election pitch: that McCaskill, a two-term incumbent, is out of step with his state’s values. “Senator McCaskill, she’s been in D.C. forever,” Hawley says in the video. “She’s turned her back...

A Missouri woman who is an adherent of the Satanic Temple won a victory in court last week in her quest to show that state abortion law violates her religious beliefs. The Western District Court of Appeals ruled in her favor Tuesday, writing that her constitutional challenge — rare for its basis in religion — presented “a contested matter of right that involves fair doubt and reasonable room for disagreement.” The woman, identified as Mary Doe in court documents, argued that her religion does not adhere to the idea that life begins at conception, and, because of that, the prerequisites...

ZAF Energy Systems Inc. opened a new production facility in Joplin Thursday, which is expected to create more than 100 jobs. The Montana-based company, which develops next-generation battery technology, is expanding its production capacity to meet customer demand and drive more interest in its rechargeable nickel zinc battery (NiZn) as a replacement for lead-acid batteries. The additional capacity also will help it expedite licensing and joint venture negotiations, as well as commercializing its products on a global scale. “We just weren’t able to keep up with the demand with the capacity we had in Montana,” said ZAF CEO Randy Moore...

The number of attacks carried out by white supremacists were “almost triple” those of those carried out by people who identified with groups such as ISIS, said Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri. And government data obtained by The Hill suggests the number of white supremacist attacks compared to those from radical Islamist groups was as many as two to one. “We have had zero hearings on the threat of domestic terrorists and the threat they pose and our response to it,” McCaskill said, explaining there had been a number of hearings about ISIS, but none about white supremacists. But...

LAKE OZARK, MO (KOMU/CNN) - A bar is getting criticism for a doormat that's being called racist. The makeshift mat of NFL jerseys started as a stance against anthem protests. Jason Burle has been running a Lake of the Ozarks bar for almost two years, a project that gives a nod to his military roots. His father served in the Navy from 1969 to 1973 during Vietnam. He, too, served in the military, and now his son. In the “hallway of heroes” around the corner from the bar, there is a reminder of what the Snafu Bar is really about....

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints now owns the printer’s manuscript of the Book of Mormon — for $35 million, the sellers say. The Community of Christ, formerly known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, announced the sale, and the price tag, on Wednesday. The Independence, Missouri-based church has owned the manuscript since 1903. Steven E. Snow, LDS Church historian and recorder, confirmed the acquisition, calling the document both a spiritual and historic treasure. Church officials did not immediately confirm, but also did not challenge, the stated sales price when contacted Thursday.

Why Did the Judge Acquit a St. Louis Police Officer of Killing a Black Man? Bob Adelmann The decision on Friday to acquit a white St. Louis police officer in the fatal shooting of a black man back in December 2011 predictably set off rioting in the city. It didn’t occur to the rioters that, according to the evidence in the case, Officer Jason Stockley’s use of force was reasonable, to defend his own life against a potentially lethal threat exhibited by Anthony Lamar Smith. It didn’t matter that the judge found that the state failed to prove its allegation...

FULL TITLE: Kansas suspends abortion doctor for failing to take a sample of a 13-year-old's fetus after she 'had sex with her 19-year-old boyfriend' Kansas suspended a former Planned Parenthood doctor's state medical license for failing to preserve a fetal tissue sample from a 13-year-old girl's abortion so that it could be sent to authorities after she allegedly had sex with a 19-year-old. The State Board of Healing Arts concluded that Dr Allen S. Palmer violated Kansas law during the December 2014 abortion at a Planned Parenthood clinic in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park. Kansas requires fetal tissue...

Once again, big city Democrat politicians have failed us. A deep societal wound was opened this past weekend in the Show Me State, with Ferguson, the false clarion call of “Hands Up Don't Shoot,” and the Black Lives Matter marches all still fresh in our memories, another. The acquittal on Friday of a white cop on trial for murder for fatally shooting a black man in 2011 after a high-speed chase was immediately met with demonstrations and violence including attacks on police, property, and the media. That was predictable, but what was equally and sadly on display were incendiary comments...

Destroying libraries? Sure. This is what the left supports. While the media keeps lying that the St. Louis race riots are "peaceful protests" (as it has been doing in response to every black nationalist race riot since Ferguson), here's what the left's racist black nationalist thugs are actuallu up to. Trashing libraries. The Schlafly branch in St. Louis suffered broken windows at the hands of the racist thugs. The library reopened at midday after the staff went "literally... book by book" to check for glass fragments, said library director Waller McGuire. He arrived at the library at 2 a.m. Saturday....
