As St. Louis Erupts, Democrats Own It

Once again, big city Democrat politicians have failed us. A deep societal wound was opened this past weekend in the Show Me State, with Ferguson, the false clarion call of “Hands Up Don't Shoot,” and the Black Lives Matter marches all still fresh in our memories, another. The acquittal on Friday of a white cop on trial for murder for fatally shooting a black man in 2011 after a high-speed chase was immediately met with demonstrations and violence including attacks on police, property, and the media. That was predictable, but what was equally and sadly on display were incendiary comments by local elected Democrat officials up and down the line that appeared to add more fuel to the already volatile fire in the streets.

On the streets of St. Louis Sept. 16, 2017

As the story reached national media prominence last week, the bare outlines of the 2011 case were repeated again and again, without much attention to the important context or additional details. The origins of the current story – trial, acquittal, and unrest – date back to December 20, 2011, when several St. Louis police officers reportedly observed 24-year-old African-American, Anthony Lamar Smith, who had a long criminal record, engaged in a drug deal in a fast food restaurant parking lot.

When the cops attempted to question Smith, the suspect rammed one of the police cars with his sedan and then took off at high speed. The police gave chase and when Smith’s car was forced to a stop, Smith was approached by 31-year-old white cop Jason Stockley. Officer Stockley fatally shot Smith five times after, he said, Smith disobeyed his orders to put his hands up and instead appeared to reach for a gun.

“Once again, big city Democrat politicians have failed us.”

Of course. Interestingly, long-term Democrat mayors, like the first Richard Daley, would not be tolerated by the left of today. He would most likely respond to violence with aggressive policing, and would be roundly denounced because of it.

If you incessantly tell people they are ‘put upon’, many will eventually believe it. We are seeing the results.

Facts mean nothing to the Left. The Narrative is the important story.

Yes, the ‘Democrats own it’ is true, but that won’t stop big media and public schools from blaming everything from white privilege to Donald Trump to income inequality.

You know the routine - if they can’t spin, they lie.

The use of deadly force is required when feral beasts, infected with rabies (Demonicrat or otherwise), violently attack people.

The old Democrat Party catered to the working class. The new Democrat Party does not give a damn about white working-class people, which is why they are switching to Repub.

People get the kind of government they deserve.

When the politicians you elect stop supporting the police that maintain civil order, and start prosecuting the police for doing their jobs guess what happens. The police will, invariably, stop doing their jobs. They will be slower to respond, they will be slower to react, until they are reduced to simply filing crime reports.

We can already see the results of this in Baltimore, Chicago, and St. Louis. Look for all the chocolate cities to follow suit. Welcome to the new normal.

With all due respect and admiration for those who are, I do not understand why anyone would want to be a Law Enforcement Officer at this point.

I really don't.

I say that as the father of a young man pursuing a degree in Crimial Justice & Law Enforcement who wants to be a LEO.

I wish he'd choose something else. I really do.

And I quote the original Mayor Daley when I say:

The police aren't here to create disorder, the police are here to preserve disorder!

Yes, he said that.

All cities are RAT.

Why do you think there are so many RINO senators?

Chicago appears to have found the correct answer to the plague of perpetual black violence. Appoint a black, or woman as the chief of police.

Of course it doesn't help anything, and in many cases it makes things far worse, but it definitely makes blacks & Democrat politicians think they're doing something to solve the problem.

These rioters remind me of a bed bug infestation. Unfortunately there is no approved spray for them. They just keep multiplying.

"Put upon" is an understatement.

Democrats are telling these thugs they have the right to inflict violence on innocent people AND their children and property... AND democrats tell the 'black community' they're entitled to stand up for every two bit criminal thug in their neighborhoods.

It's disgusting.

The black community's reaction to every thug every criminal - who gets hurt while engaging in criminal activity is DISGUSTING.

When was the last time you heard of Asian Americans rioting because some Asian drug dealer was killed by a cop? Or the White community 'marching' because some two bit white thief was killed by a cop?

Grow up Black Community - every black criminal is NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE.

All these SOBs arrested for rioting/looting/throwing bricks and acid at police should lose their EBT Cards forever. No second chances. Hit ‘em where it hurts!
