This is where racism leads. Father Pfleger of Chicago and other disarmists have filed a lawsuit against three municipalities outside of Chicago. In essence, that lawsuit says that black people cannot stop themselves from murdering and stealing, so people outside of Chicago have to keep strict controls on the sale of guns. Too understand the lawsuit, it claims that lack of strict gun controls has a disproportionate effect on black people.

A man walking into a local abortion clinic is under arrest after protesters there said he pulled a gun on them. Bristol, Tennessee, police arrested Derrick Doss just before 10am Wednesday, outside the Bristol Women's Clinic on West State Street. Doss is charged with aggravated assault. Protesters said they approached him as he was walking into the office, and then he pulled a gun on them.

Seattle would tax gun and ammunition sales and require owners to tell police about lost and stolen firearms under a pair of bills coming before the City Council. Last week, 32-year-old Kate Steinle was murdered at Pier 14 in San Francisco, shot to death by Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez, a 45-year old multiple deportee, according to his own words. Background checks for gun sales spiked 11% in June compared to last year, making it the busiest June ever, according to the FBI's background check data. Last month the FBI conducted nearly 1.53 million background checks, which are required for all in-store purchases, but not for sales at gun shows or between individuals. That's the highest volume of checks in June since 1999, when the FBI started keeping track. Gun background checks have climbed annually since 2003 with the exception of just three years, one of which was 2014, indicating a clear jump in gun sales.

The “investigation” focused mostly on the Facebook group Sheepdog Mama, a community for pro-gun moms that currently has nearly 5,000 members. Instead of explosive debate on the divisive issue of guns, the page features thousands of mothers who are concerned with mostly one thing: protecting their families. However, the article also cites a professor at the Harvard School of Public Health who claimed there is “no good evidence that having a gun is going to make you any safer.” In fact, citing a study regularly used by anti-gun advocates, he claimed owning a gun makes households more unsafe.

When Francisco Sanchez allegedly gunned down Kathryn Steinle at San Francisco’s Pier 14 on July 1, Breitbart News discovered that Sanchez had been deported from the country five times. We also discovered another interesting tidbit–Sanchez has seven felonies, which means he faces 100 percent gun control 100 percent of the time. He is completely barred from gun possession and prohibited from having the gun with which he allegedly shot and killed Steinle.

Back when he was still on the air, I would often perform an act of charity in doubling Piers Morgan’s ratings by tuning in to his show. When the topic of gun control would come up, and it did often, there was one argument that Piers would often bring up: that America has lax gun laws and plenty of gun homicides, while England and Wales have strong gun control and very few gun homicides. The argument at face value appears to have some validity – the U.S. has around 8,000 gun-related homicides, while England and Wales have about 60 combined.

David Frum, in an article published in the Atlantic on 23 May, takes considerable liberties with the facts and truth.   The article is under the "politics" section, so it should be a bit more concerned with facts than a typical opinion piece.  But disarmists seldom let reality interfere with their fantasies.  Frum makes a number of assertions as fact that are not true.  He selectively ignores other facts that invalidate his thesis.  Here are some of the more egregious errors.
