Here’s What Liberal Site Learned After Investigating ‘Mothers Packing Heat
theblaze.com ^ | 7/6/2015 | Jason Howerton

The “investigation” focused mostly on the Facebook group Sheepdog Mama, a community for pro-gun moms that currently has nearly 5,000 members. Instead of explosive debate on the divisive issue of guns, the page features thousands of mothers who are concerned with mostly one thing: protecting their families.

However, the article also cites a professor at the Harvard School of Public Health who claimed there is “no good evidence that having a gun is going to make you any safer.” In fact, citing a study regularly used by anti-gun advocates, he claimed owning a gun makes households more unsafe.

Dear haavhaad professor for public health. Please call Lynn Russell and ask her if the 2nd saved her and her husbands lives. That is all.

If (when) the SHTF, who is this dic_head going to run to? The neighbor who owns a gun, of course.

If she gets in any danger now, who does she call?

A person with a gun.

“no good evidence that having a gun is going to make you any safer.”

Key word here is "good."

When presented with evidence that innocent lives have been saved when a gun was available for self-defense, the anti-Second-Amendment people will just say "that's not a good study" and dismiss the it.

Thus, any study that supports their position is a "good study," and any study that undermines their position is "not a good study."

“The neighbor who owns a gun, of course. “ In my neighborhood, that’d be just about every house. I mean, NOBODY in my neighborhood owns any guns at all. Nope, not any. Massive boating accident/catastrophe.

Well as usual this liberal talking ass is WRONG!!! The sign I have at the end of the drive way says: “Criminals will be shot. Survivors will be shot again.” And, “This house is protected by the 2d Amendment.” So, they are free to come on up and attempt to come in if they want to. They will not like the results. My wife had never touched a weapon until we got married 20 years ago. Today, she has her carry permit and packs HEAT in her purse. I taught her how to shoot and she can hit what she aims at!!! So, if they want to mess with her, she has something for them. Everywhere we go now, the heat is along for the ride.

Don’t want to pack a gun?
Don’t.
Just shy in a corner and cry while an invader is raping your wife. Don’t worry, the police will be there soon.
Oh, I’m sorry, where are my PC manners. I meant your wife/husband/other/life partner.

The problem is lack of reporting when it comes to guns saving lives. When guns kill, it's a story, because a crime has been committed (and it helps the totalitarian movement), but when it's self defense it goes unreported. A non-crime is not news.
It would be nice if the media reported when people were saved as much as they do when a person somewhere has been harmed. Because they only report crimes, the overwhelmingly good news goes unreported.

Also, a life saved by using a firearm for self-defense does not advance the narrative.

The one time I had to draw on a guy to protect myself, he just went away. I never reported it to police (what would be the point?) and it never showed up in a news story or statistic.

I think that, in the vast majority of cases where displaying a gun results in the criminal running away, the gun owner never reports, out of concern that the police will hassle HIM over not being 1000% in compliance with all laws and regulations.

I've told a couple of friends who are scared of guns to find a broken one to carry since most times all it takes is showing it.
The added bonus is if the bad guy takes it from them they won't be supplying a gun that can shoot them or others.

Today, she has her carry permit and packs HEAT in her purse.

Not the best place. Better to keep it on your person. If a criminal rips the purse out of her hands, she's just lost her firearm. Even if she manages to hold on, she doesn't have access in a tug of war.

If a mother has anxiety over being attacked she should fill a prescription of Xanax and throw the pills at the attacker.

He missed a hyphen, it should be "no-good evidence..."

Nope.

He will dial 911 and wait for the police to show up to defend him. If a crime is committed against him, he will blame everyone but himself and the criminal.

Saying just having a gun in your house makes it more dangerous is like saying you’re 50% responsible for being broadsided in an intersection by an illegal alien who ran the red light simply because you were there. “If you hadn’t been in the intersection he wouldn’t have hit you!”

These Harvard geniuses get their warped statistics from police reports detailing burglaries, home invasions, drug deals, etc, committed by gun-toting criminals on other gun-toting criminals. IOW, the bad guys are attacking each other. Of course they’re armed (illegally)
