Kill the Ryan bill! Repeal the unconstitutional Obamacare or let it go bust!

Posted on 03/24/2017 1:22:04 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

A no vote on RYANcare/GOPcare is a vote FOR constitutional government.

Obamacare, RYANcare, RINOcare, GOPcare, Hillarycare, Trumpcare or ANY form of federal government mandated health care package is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! The constitution clearly reserves health care and health care insurance to the states and the PEOPLE!

The founders did not establish the federal government to be a charity or to "care for" the personal needs of the citizens. The founders never intended to create a welfare state! The constitution was intended to severely RESTRICT the powers of the federal government and to leave most governing powers to the states and the PEOPLE! The power to mandate or provide or control health care or health care insurance is not delegated to the federal government by the constitution, therefore it's reserved by the 10th amendment to the states and the people.

If they’e looking to blame someone, blame it on the founders. Blame it on the constitution.

The bill is wrong. Remember the tea party? For seven long years we’ve been demanding and voting for Republicans on a nationwide basis to repeal the unconstitutional big government socialist Obamacare. We do not want to replace it with a Republican brand of unconstitutionalism. We want it repealed, dead and gone, ripped out by the roots and the ground salted so it can never rise again.

Free markets or bust!

NO federal mandates or tinkering of any kind!

If the Republicans pass this POS, then unconstitutional federal government intrusion and mandates will be here forever (or until the rebellion anyway).

Passing this GOPcare bill sends the signal that government healthcare (some form of nationalized healthcare, socialism, single payer, etc) is perfectly fine by both major political parties and it’s just a matter of time before the democrats retake power and ram through universal single payer socialism.

Pass it and freedom is dead.

The most unconstitutional provision of Obamacare was the personal mandate. As bad as this bill was, it eliminated that mandate. Now that the bill is dead, the mandates are alive. Planned parenthood will continue to be funded. Obamacare is still the law of the land.

For those who are celebrating this “victory” please look up the term “pyrrhic victory”.

“Articulate why the constitutionally correct answer is for the states and especially for the people to make all the decisions that Obamacare tried to make at the federal level.”

What if you had a child that needed an Article I, Section 8 patented drug that cost $200,000/year to stay alive and your state refused to pay for it?

What if every other state closed its high-cost condition pool?

Dear Parent:

Our records indicate that you live in a home with $350,000 of equity. Your child’s grandparents have $750,000 of equity in their homes.

Your request for patient assistance is denied.

We suggest you sell all the homes and buy your child’s drugs and our stock. We intend to make a real killing.

Greg Greedy,

CEO, Lifesaving Drugs Inc.

I get that repealing ObamaCare will be a harder task than replacing it.

Our Leftist, Statist, Social-engineering Fed.gov operates on massive debt, and printed money. Nothing will change until that does. Its the ultimate tax. Every expensive, ridiculous social-engineering scheme can be funded.

You will never end Progressivism until The Federal Reserve is gone, and we have a currency backed by something politicians can not control.

“I’d like to see President Trump lead:

- Articulate why Obamacare in particular is bad.
- Articulate why excessive government involvement in general in our medical care is bad.
- Articulate why the constitutionally correct answer is for the states and especially for the people to make all the decisions that Obamacare tried to make at the federal level.

Then tell Ryan to call for another vote on a pure repeal.”

100% Correct, also 100% Trump will not do it!

If you think he will tell me what makes you think that?

He has done nothing to suggest this is his intent, for if it was he would have done it weeks ago...

God Bless

You can’t see any further than your nose, can you?

I still believe Trump has a long term strategy at work here.

And just because a miserable bill didn’t make a vote today - you are willing to write off the rest of Trump’s term, the GOP majority and accept ObamaCare forever?

And blame conservatives (Freedom Caucus)?

Good Lord Indeed! There are some short sighted people here.

You’re happy it’s dead and yet you want Trump to punish the Freedom Caucus for fighting against it. When will you figure out that Real Conservatives in the House and Senate are the only things standing between us and RINOism.

He was being loyal to the Speaker, but he knew it was going down to defeat.

I have never understood why people think it will “collapse.”

It's in the process of collapsing already. More and more providers dropping out of markets every month. Higher premiums and higher deductibles forcing people to go bare and just pay the penalties. Covering pre-existing conditions and covering every non-taxpaying illegal that makes it across the border pretty much assured a death spiral for obamacare unless ever increasing subsidies are provided to insurers and stiffer penalties for refuseniks are enacted - but with Trump in the White House and both houses of Congress in Republican hands those things don't have to be provided.

Doing nothing and watching it burn the whole time pointing at the Democrats and saying, "See what those bastards did!" should be the Republican plan of action - not trying to fix the Democrats mistakes and thereby taking a share in blame for the coming disaster.

The mandate is dead if it isn't enforced.

And the mandate can be dealt with in a separate bill.

Agree emphatically. But for tax year 2016 if you are uninsured:

This isn’t over yet. Why settle for half a loaf, or Obamacare II? Repeal the whole magilla!

Since hospitals are bound by law to treat emergencies & patients in labor, start putting an ICE desk right by the triage desk in certain cities. It would instantly ease the burdened healthcare system. Thanks to the progressives, we are made to feel as if we’re obliged to provide every need for illegals from cradle to grave without any work or assimilation in return. I’m tired of it.
