Today marks the one-year anniversary of the shot heard round America the one that left Michael Browns lifeless body lying on a Ferguson, Mo., street for hours and then left the nation reeling and roiling ever since.
Yet watching the GOP candidates and Fox News moderators shape and prioritize the nations most pressing problems Thursday night, one couldnt help but wonder: Does Black Lives Matter matter to them at all?
In a two-hour debate, which frankly felt much longer, only two candidates were even asked about race.
First, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker answered a question about the Black Lives Matter movement with largely non-responsive comments about police accountability measures.
Later, Fox News Megyn Kelly, perhaps realizing that no one asked the one black guy on stage about race, put the issue to Ben Carson, who used his expertise as a surgeon to declare us all the same under the skin.
With the exception of Rand Paul, who gave lip service to the issue of race by mentioning, as he frequently does, that hes been to Ferguson and Detroit and other places where black people can be found, everyone else remained silent on the issue, like theyd dodged a bullet.
Meanwhile, it seems like each day there is a new dash-cam video showing people of color who, unfortunately, did not dodge the bullets fired in their direction.
If the GOP hopefuls demonstrated a fraction of the passion and protectionism they dedicate to the hypothetical fetuses being discussed in a stream of anti-abortion sting videos, perhaps they could join in an actual discussion of the racial tensions, opportunity inequities, heavy-handed policing and race-based distrust that has become part of the American fabric. As Kelly correctly pointed out, it has been called the civil rights issue of our time.
If the candidates cared a little more, maybe wed even get some solutions.
They should have expected questions about race if for no other reason than nearly all of their Democratic counterparts have been caught, one time or another, flat-footed when asked about it.
But despite the stumbles of folks like former Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley, at least they seem willing to learn from the mistakes. But for Republicans, it seems more politically expedient to ignore ongoing race-based struggles.
If only black America had that luxury.
Paid.
Mine is too. Unfortunately, when a group makes it obvious that they will not be pleased until they are absolute overlords, the only thing you can do is just ignore them. This #blacklivesmatter has committed suicide and has rendered themselves irrelevant.
The worst things they did and even my dad agreed that is was stupid is that they 1. they gave up in the late 60’s when MLK was shot, 2. decided to embrace the Afrocentric/ Ghetto Culture 3. embrace the great society, 4. support the progressives and socialists that in irony support laws that have racist backgrounds such as gun control and even supporting PP which had and agenda and still does, if they would not have done those things they would have had a better time.

Your regular posting of this lib racist stuff to show us what they are up to is another reason why I appreciate you here.
I watch Melissa Harris Perry, this is exactly how they talk.
“Chartreuse Lives matter”
“Yellow Ochre Lives matter”
“ Cadmium red lives matter”
“Cobalt Blue lives matter”

Black lives never came up BUT neither did..
1) the federal reserve..
2) massive voter fraud..
3) Complete absence of the FBI anywhere..
4) Multiple voting by illegal insurgents..
5) why do we have leftist moderators?..
6) Is a RINO a leftist?.. or What is a RINO?
7) or leftist UNION activities...
well then blame the f@cking media, they controlled the questions.
frankly they asked two more than necesary. time to stop kowtowing and placating the racebaiter/racismist crowd.
ALL LIVES MATTER
NUF SAID.
being to smart and doing too well in school is considered being too white.
to their own demises. they reject what will elevate them,’things they can directly do to make their own lives better, in their own power, but instead on’t do the best they can do for themselves,’and grow up thinking others have done better than them because he ‘system’ is rigged against them unfairly. no personal responsibility that way. they can keep living in denial and keep having everyone else to hateso they don’t have to hate themselves for not giving a sh1t about their own life.
You raciss !
Kimberly, black people are about to be buried under waves of new immigration, level and illegal. What are you going to do when your dear Democratic Party doesn’t need your votes anymore?
It wasn’t the shot heard around the world.
It was the big lie heard around the world.
I am also weary of this. Apparently to blacks, their own lives mean nothing to themselves. How else do you explain it when they sacrifice their lives for the few hundred dollars they steal from a convenience store, dying in a hail of bullets in a shootout with police? Or for some illegal drugs? Or for a pair of athletics shoes they beat someone nearly to death to steal?
They value their lives and the lives of everyone around them for next to nothing. Until they realize that ALL lives have meaning, purpose, and value, they will continue to sell their lives out for a pittance. No amount of misplaced self-loathing or fabricated ‘movement’ can change that little, inconvenient fact. If they wish to see who is responsible for their lives and futures, they need only look in a mirror.
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the shot heard round America the one that left Michael Browns lifeless body lying on a Ferguson, Mo., street for hours and then left the nation reeling and roiling ever since.
Only with those that make a living pimping race. Past that it was just one more criminal idiot getting himself killed by his own stupidity no matter the color of his skin........
Maybe if Mayhem Kelly had asked actual questions, including ones pertaining to the black community, the candidates could have responded. Instead we got questions about if mom should die or baby be aborted if if God talks to them at the lunch counter or if they had stopped raping their wives.., or some such nonsense.
So don’t blame the candidates which only got a minute at a time to answer gotcha questions instead of questions that folks might be interested in. Ms Atkins’ anger is mis-placed. She needs to ask Mayhem Kelly and the folks at Faux why they wasted precious time with utter malarkey.
#BlackLiesMatter
It’s 3:54 in the morning as I respond and stiil 91 degrees with a high later today of 105. Just seeing the picture you posted makes me think of the Christmas season and the “cooler” (this IS Texas) weather eventually on its way. :)
