Well, yeah....it's called BEYOND a reasonable doubt. Sorry, but the prosecution did not meet its burden.
Would you prefer it to be another standard?
Would you like people to be convicted because of the preponderance of the evidence or should it be a conviction based on facts in evidence?

Prosecution unfortunately didn’t answer adequately the jurors desire to understand motive. The motive was the same as Susan Smith’s motive, and one that the jurors could understand based on their knowledge of that case.
Tony, her current boyfriend, WOULD NOT ALLOW CAYLEE TO SPEND THE NIGHT. No one ever emphasized this in closing, and didn’t realize how desperate the slut was to hang onto that guy.
I always got the impression the grandparents knew long before the little girl was found that she was dead. It seemed that they were just pretending to trying to find her alive, they always seemed like they were protecting their daughter. Kids that turn out really bad usually have the kind of parents who will protect them come hell or high water. It’s a form of ruthlessness on the part of parents who defend their kids at all costs, some people admire that quality, I don’t.
