Team Rand Attacks ‘Canadian’ Ted Cruz
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | May 29, 2015 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 05/29/2015 10:33:04 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’s America’s Liberty Super PAC is out with a new ad attacking Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as a “Canadian” who supports President Obama on domestic surveillance extensions in the Patriot Act.

The extreme-style smackdown ad features Paul as the shirtless hero of a Sunday brawl in the Senate over the NSA and the right to privacy.

Featuring a picture of Cruz with Obama and the backdrop of a Canadian flag, the ad calls the Texas Senator a “capitulating Canadian” who is “backing Barack’s bill.”

Technically, the ad is not endorsed by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)'s campaign, but the Super PAC is endorsed by Paul and led by former campaign strategist Jesse Benton, who married into the Paul family and worked for not only Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’s Senate campaign but also Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign.

A spokesperson for Cruz’s campaign declined to comment on the ad, the latest hit on Cruz, who was once an ally of Rand Paul’s until they both began preparing for a 2016 run for president.

The friction between the two Senators has been growing, after Cruz criticized Paul on the campaign trail for voting against the USA Freedom Act — a bill that includes restrictions on the NSA’s ability to collect phone records in bulk, but failed to earn support from privacy advocates...

You have just brought to my mind the crux of this Nation’s societal transformation. There is no more the concept of ‘citizen’ as intended by the Founding Fathers and their US Constitution. The US has become just a bunch of people. This appears to be the mental road Obama and all of his enablers wanted the US to be on. I don’t believe the Statue of Liberty was ever meant to signify such an all inclusive society.

So Rand Paul’s support of Obama on Cuba, and gay marriage doesn’t bother you ?

Undecided on Rand Paul ?

His support for Obama on Cuba, Rand Paul’s welcoming radical homosexuals in the GOP, his support of what happened in Baltimore and is happening in Baltimore because he believes as Rev. Albert Sharpton does that police are arresting more blacks than whites doesn’t concern you ?

Rand Paul is not a conservative as he makes himself out to be.

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

Rand Slams Congress for Funding Egypt's Generals: 'How Does Your Conscience Feel Now?'
Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt's military -- even as Cairo's security forces massacre anti-government activists. [by "anti-government activists" is meant church-burning Christian-murdering jihadists]

And those who support Rand Paul aren’t drinking the koolaid ?

As stated from the other Freeper that Rand Paul hasn’t stated anything on H-1b visas, so we do not know where he stands on that, nor trust him.

By the way ?

Migrant is a root word for immigrants.

That is a good question. Not sure I have what I would call a preferred candidate at this point (tho I have a list of candidates for whom I won't vote Huckabee, Jebster, Carsen LOL). However, is still early and information and candidates continue to emerge. Since I don't live in Iowa or New Hampshire, my vote in primary will not matter. At the present time, I seem to be leaning towards Walker...I like a lot of what Walker has said and done in Wisconsin, but he has not yet declared, and I want further information on his position on immigration (flip-flop, etc.) and foreign policy. However, I like a lot of what Cruz has said, but I am concerned with several of his votes and don't feel they should just be dismissed. I had liked what I had seen of Carly, but she is not going anywhere, and some here have said her stand on immigration is very close to Jeb. I would not consider myself to be a single issue voter, but immigration is huge to me as I think it is one of the tools being used to transform the country. Seems each candidate has some strong points--hopefully, the party plank will adopt a number of them.

I don’t know anything about Rand Paul except that I don’t care for him at all. If you are really for all the immigration, go check out California and get back with me. It is turning into a hell hole. That is our future, and not far off.

“So Rand Paul’s support of Obama on Cuba, and gay marriage doesn’t bother you?”

I just read your post. I was all for Paul and Cruz when they initially ran for the Senate. Now, with Paul’s idiotic statements and stands, and Cruz’s votes, no more.

It seems we basically value the same things for the same reasons.

Yes, I admit I was warming up to Scott Walker, that is ?_before Ted Cruz jumped into the ring.

Yes, his support for the Iran bill and this TPA caught a few by surprise, and need a few anti acid tablets, but sat and waited for it to be explained farther.

After all the weeds are weeded out concerning ideology, values, their stance on issues, love for America, Ted Cruz comes out on top.

Ted Cruz is the most viable out of the other candidates with a nice campaign war chest going for him over $ 70 million dollars.

I hear you on the situation of what is happening in California, no one can fault you on that.

However the situation around the nation and California is more to do with illegals coming here taking people’s jobs than anything else, that of course must needs be stopped.

Cruz’s stance with the H-1B visas is a deal-breaker for me. It’s down to Scott Walker.
Every single person working on an H-1B visa has taken a job that an American can fill. Every single one; no exceptions.

The term and the whole concept of “citizen” is becoming outmoded or at least exceedingly elasticized even as we consider these things.

Hit nail on the head....Many immigrants here legally on H-1B work permits and illegally are merely residents of the US, and have no understanding of the Constitution and the value of the sacrifices made by those who went before us.

It’s silly and wrong to call Ted Cruz a “Capitulating Canadian.”

Ted Cruz is definitely NOT Canadian.

Not like Rand Paul, Rand Paul works to create sound bites for, and to reinforce the left’s caricatures against conservatives.

Paul searches for descriptions and attacks that he wants the media and the left, to also use against conservatives.
