He’s been doing it for a couple of years now, I think it is mostly his own anti-conservative war.

Remember that he is a libertarian, and libertarians are at war with conservatism.

Paul wants his digs to endure, and to reverberate among the media and the left, to help them attack conservatives, he wants these attacks to stick.

When he panders to groups, look at how he reinforces their worst fears against conservatives and uses that groups language against us.

“I’m in the IT Industry, and have been for 20+ years, doing everything from development/programming/engineering to positions all the way up to VP. I have NEVER seen this occur and Have worked for several Fortune 500 companies.”

Thanks for your input. The false info floating around FR these days is saddening. Next thing will be asking if you are Hispanic LOL.

I have 3 IT types in my extended family, 1 an Italian by birth 2 Colombian by birth. All IS citizens and doing very, very well. And multi lingual too!

You and I just plain disagree on libertarians and libertarianism. That’s fine; it spices the mix.

In order to hatch a good conspiracy you have to have someone who is smart enough to do it. I don’t see that junior has the raw intellect. Dad, yeah. Junior isn’t libertarian enough, isn’t conservative enough, isn’t principled enough, and isn’t bright enough to do much of anything.

Frankly I think junior is the epitome of Rev 3:16. “So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.”

What conspiracy?

You lost me, I was just talking about Paul and his politics, and how he wars against conservatives.

Doctor and Senator, Paul, is smart enough to use the language that he does, and to express his personal politics. I don’t know what this “intellect” and “conspiracy” stuff is about, but I’m not interested in learning about it either.

You seem to be trying to go somewhere, but I sure don’t know where.

I don’t get what your posts are about, or what fight or argument you are looking for, or what your interest in the thread is.

Can’t you take up the Paul is dumb theme with someone else on the thread?

We don’t need to question his stance, we already know he is wrong on those issues. However, if we rank issues in terms of relative importance at this point in time, those issues probably wouldn’t even crack the top twenty.

You don't think sending jobs overseas (TPP) and importing cut-rate foreign labor to do the jobs we can't send overseas (H-1b) isn't an important issue?

I think that Rand is largely motivated to keep his family’s cult going.

Being a cult leader made for a very good life for his dad, and Rand might be trying to maintain that family lifestyle.

I have NEVER seen this occur

And you are all-seeing? The evidence that it happens has been posted.

How can you refuse his actions? He did them. He voted to give Hussein tremendous powers that belong to the COngress.A politician is not like a Protestant convert, once saved always saved even if he sloips and reverts. You think with Cruz that it is okay to give Iran nuclear capacity? Cruz is not stupid. He knows that there will be no inspeciton and no compliance with anything Hussin comes up with. you actually believe with Cruz, or what he said, that Hussein will negotiate a trade deal that is in any way related to free arket anything? knowing that Hussein hates capitalism and has ideas more in tune with the Mercantilism of the 17th century? No. Cruz has shown that he is a little more consistently conservative than the majority whores we sent to the House and Senate last year, but only a little. He still answers to McConnell’s demand in the pinch or maybe the blackmail really is overpowering in Washington. NSA and the Clintons know all.

“Cruz’s stance with the H-1B visas is a deal-breaker for me. It’s down to Scott Walker.”

What a coincidence. Walker’s last minute flip flop on ethanol mandates to pander to Iowa farmers was a deal breaker for me.

I disagree with Cruz on on H1B, but at least he’s honest about his support for it. Walker’s flip flop on the Renewable Fuel Standard mandate shows me a politician with character defects.

YMMV.

Re: “Even in Texas we can’t always find all the technical workers we need locally.”

Some companies solve that the old fashioned way...

Higher pay.

The median wage for USA information technology workers has stagnated since 2000.

The H-1B visa quota was massively increased in 1999.

No, the assumptions, half-truths, and straw-men have been posted.

Nothing that has been posted PROVES by EVIDENCE that this is a major problem or even a problem that a large minority of businesses are involved in.

I am sure that some companies are abusing the H1-B process, I do believe it is possible for corporations to lie about their "need" of H1-Bs, however, there is no evidence that it is a wide-spread issue, or even a large minority of companies taking part in this type of behavior.

Depends on how high you want to set the bar for standard of evidence. I think there's as much evidence for a significant H-1B abuse problem in the tech industry as there is for, say, a significant unsafe-practice problem in the abortuary 'industry' ... even though most abortuaries have not been shown by direct evidence to have unsafe practices.
