Team Rand Attacks ‘Canadian’ Ted Cruz
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | May 29, 2015 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 05/29/2015 10:33:04 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’s America’s Liberty Super PAC is out with a new ad attacking Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) as a “Canadian” who supports President Obama on domestic surveillance extensions in the Patriot Act.

The extreme-style smackdown ad features Paul as the shirtless hero of a Sunday brawl in the Senate over the NSA and the right to privacy.

Featuring a picture of Cruz with Obama and the backdrop of a Canadian flag, the ad calls the Texas Senator a “capitulating Canadian” who is “backing Barack’s bill.”

Technically, the ad is not endorsed by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)'s campaign, but the Super PAC is endorsed by Paul and led by former campaign strategist Jesse Benton, who married into the Paul family and worked for not only Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’s Senate campaign but also Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential campaign.

A spokesperson for Cruz’s campaign declined to comment on the ad, the latest hit on Cruz, who was once an ally of Rand Paul’s until they both began preparing for a 2016 run for president.

The friction between the two Senators has been growing, after Cruz criticized Paul on the campaign trail for voting against the USA Freedom Act — a bill that includes restrictions on the NSA’s ability to collect phone records in bulk, but failed to earn support from privacy advocates...

Rand Paul is a victim of the mayonnaise he slathers on his head. Eventually it permeates the brain.

Look what mayonnaise did to Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz.

Fake Conservative Rand Paul prefers that we welcome open, radical queers in the Republican Party.

Actually Rand Paul’s defense of it is a veiled attack on the family and Christianity.

Ted Cruz is attracting many of his father’s supporters and Rand was counting on them to back him this time. They’re even funding blimps for Cruz like they did for Rand’s father in 2008. He’s desperate to get those people back. I can show you links.

You hit it out of the park. I want to hear which isolationist candidate they support.
Hmm, there aren't any.

“Why freepers are not questioning Cruz’s stance on these Obama-backed issues...”

We don’t need to question his stance, we already know he is wrong on those issues. However, if we rank issues in terms of relative importance at this point in time, those issues probably wouldn’t even crack the top twenty.

On the more important issues, Cruz is the only conservative option around, so we can’t exactly say he is disqualified because he holds the wrong position on relatively unimportant issues.

Hey Rand!!

Hillary is over there dumb ass.

And so the circular firing squad begins.

Just can't wait until the Jebster and his boy Rove with all their millions start pouring it on with the negative ads against conservatives. Pr!cks all.

"Even in Texas we can’t always find all the technical workers we need locally"

Then bring them in from other states. I know dozens in the IT arena - American citizens by birth - who have been undercut by an 'imported professional' here on an H1B or a B1 visa - some very recently.

The supposed 'shortage' of STEM workers is manufactured:

http://cis.org/no-stem-shortage

The program is rife with abuse. If Cruz were proposing solutions to curb the abuse along with increasing the cap - then I've got no issue with him as most of his other positions I can get behind.

how do you rationalize Rand standing with Yertl McConnell on so many issues?

Funny because I don't see that:

I guess being at war with conservatism is why he supports McConnell.

REALLY? One of my wife’s employees just graduated college and already had an $80,000 a year job lined up in consulting, as do most of her classmates. Are you back in 2009? And I’ve been a corporate recruiter for years. Where did you get the idea that companies would rather hire a non-citizen? Complete hogwash.

I wouldn’t trust Runt Paul as far as Ted Cruz could throw him. But, I’d like to see Cruz throw him.

Life father, like son. Every time Rand Paul opens his mouth he makes a complete fool of himself. Got to think his remaining few supporters will tire of his idiotic comments, his plagiarism, and futile campaign.

After the Constitutional change that was effected in order to legitimize Hussein's presidency, origins simply do not matter for a President any more. It is irrelevant. The precedent has been set in a big way and accepted by the entire political system. Anyone on earth who has attained the age of 35 and is has been resident in the USA for the requisite period of time is qualified to be President of the United States. Of course that precedent may only apply to Democrats who live under a more malleable Constitution than other citizens.
The term and the whole concept of "citizen" is becoming outmoded or at least exceedingly elasticized even as we consider these things.

” In fact Jeb trolled big time on Rand, so why is Rand going after Cruz?”

Everyone targets their biggest threat first. Jeb probably figures Rand will cut into his votes among moderates, while Rand is probably more afraid of Ted sealing up all the conservative and tea party votes.

My brother was born in Istanbul in 1956 and had to go to the Turkish consulate to renounce Turkish citizenship on turning 16 in order to avoid the Turkish draft. Turkiye was a very different place then and Americans were revered. The draft was for one year and the training was good, even if primitive by our standards. I have always thought he should have gone for it.

Rand Paul lamely attacks Senator Cruz on the throwaway issues of his Canadian background and his strong (and conservative) national security position.

Oh my, Randy, since you live in a glass house, you should not be throwing stones, when we look at you on the real issues of the day:

Cruz’s past stance on H1B is my biggest single problem with him. Hopefully he’ll shed this position and favor American workers for American jobs. There really are very, very few IT jobs wherein we need to import workers. The ONLY real reason companies want H1B is to keep wages down, which is why rates have been virtually flat for around 15 years.

He is getting a little desperate, he and Cruz are going after many of the same folks. Se~nor is the real danger here at this point.
