Not surprisingly, the GOP presidential debates announced last week will be open only to candidates who can legally serve as president.
That will make Fox News and CNN the first arbiters of Canada-born Ted Cruz’s eligibility. By putting him on stage, they will implicitly be granting a seal of approval to the only contender born outside the U.S.
The U.S. Constitution says a president has to be a natural-born citizen. Fox and CNN both listed Article II, Section 1 among the requirements for would-be debaters. It’s inconceivable that either network would invoke that requirement to shut out the Texas senator.
But there are only 10 berths at each debate. It’s not so hard to imagine a candidate who doesn’t make the cut heading to court to say, “Hang on a second, that guy isn’t even a natural-born American.”
Cruz aides shrug off the possibility.
“It would be an interesting spectacle, but I don’t think it has anything to do with the legal precedent that’s been set and accepted,” said Rick Tyler...

The age is in the U.S. Legal Codes. I remember reading it in regards to Natural Born Status requirements. No time to find it for you. Sorry.
Another way to find out if Cruz’ mom was old enough to convey citizenship to Ted is to look at her and Rafael’s marriage certificate; it would have her age on it. If she was older than 19, then she conveyed u.s. citizenship to Ted.

I have soured somewhat this week on Cruz but he will not be declared ineligible to run.
Plenty of Republicans would like to hobble Senator Cruz. He doesn't play well with others.
I can’t find anything hilarious when it pertains to the guy in the WH.

Of course he’s qualified.
Because, if he isn’t, then all those children from military families who were born in another country; while their mother was a US citizen, are not citizens either. And .. don’t give me that “military hospitals are considered USA property” .. however, in most foreign countries, THERE IS NO AMERICAN HOSPITAL. A clinic maybe .. but not a hospital.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS .. This is what we know .. the GOPe are doing anything and everything they can to destroy Ted Cruz. They just can’t abide a mega-conservative again; Reagan was bad enough .. but Ted is just a million times worse (as far as they are concerned).
I still firmly believe that the GOPe is helping many of the candidates (those who don’t have a chance of getting elected). The goal is to lessen the distribution of money to Cruz, along with less influence, less delegates, and less money.
So far, we’ve already heard a couple of them who are bad mouthing Cruz .. and giving a pass to others. Just what I thought they would do .. I’m SURE they are getting paid well for their treachery. I’m not going to name names, because all you have to do is listen to what they say; they will give themselves away.

Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen. This line of reasoning is just silly.
The definition of eligibility for presidential candidates is not properly and thoroughly defined in the Constitution. Cruz’s situation falls between the cracks and until it is defined by SCOTUS, he will continue to be stuck in a grey area.
