PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- A bullet found on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus is being evaluated at a state crime lab, according to the university.
The bullet was found outside Ullsvik Hall after a student reported seeing a man with a gun on campus. The bullet was sent to the state crime lab in Madison for evaluation, according to a press release.
Campus was closed Monday after student David Kalenga told authorities he heard and saw the barrel of an AK-47 in a men's bathroom at Ullsvik Hall. No arrests were made and the campus reopened Tuesday.
Campus police have interviewed about 20 people since Monday's incident, according to the release.

Stupid press, a bullet or a cartridge? When it comes to guns reporters are pretty sloppy.
How does one “hear” a barrel that has not fired a round?
What kind of sound does a barrel of an AK 47 make?
Pew, pew, pew.....but you have to point your fingers like a gun, too.
“Bullet or cartridge”...
If this is the way people are acting, you could create quite a furor by salting the grounds with some reloading supplies.
This is what happens when liberalism lowers the collective IQ of an entire civilization.
Weeeee...
I'm pretty sure that is impossible
The campus is a gun free zone...except for carry conceal permits with university approval ...
Sort of hard to carry conceal a AK-47
Multiple roads were shut down for several hours, and local public schools implemented lockdowns.
UW-P Chancellor Dennis Shields said there were no shots fired, no injuries and no arrests.
Platteville is about 10,000 people in a rural area. Finding a cartridge/casing/bullet there is about like finding flies on a dung pile. The Barney Fifes at the crime lab will undoubtedly confirm whether it is actually something that might be used in a firearm, for a few thousand dollars.
I wonder how many special snow flakes would have a fit if they found an inert Snap-Cap training round? I fella could have a lot of fun dropping some around their local university then sit back and watch the fun.
In the earlier story, the person supposedly hear someone rack an action.
It is embarrassing to read about Americans acting this way. I used to laugh at the British, and sadly reflect on the high level of nanny state there.
Now I read of the same thing in Wisconsin! Plattville of all places! I once considered going to school there. They have a well thought of mining engineering school.
There is nothing illegal about having ammunition on Wisconsin campuses.
I am surprised that no one has gone to the range, picked up a couple of dozen spent .22 casings, and had a hole in their pocket while walking around campus.
I suppose that there is the very remote possibility that they could be charged with littering.
But this has happened to me, quite literally without intention. A small hole in the corner of a pocket is common, and I have often had dozens of spent .22 cartridges that I picked up to use as snap caps in my pocket.
And how would the little snowflake differentiate an AK-47 barrell from an AR-15 barrell there? He would need to be quite the expert to be able to do that.
Sounds like made-up SJW B.S.
It always seems to be an AK-47 doesn't it? Personally, if I saw only the barrel of a rifle under a bathroom stall I don't think I could identify it........
