Evolutionists retreating from the arena of science

--snip--

Today, the Darwinian scientific consensus persists within almost every large university and governmental institution. But around the middle of the 20th century an interesting new trend emerged and has since become increasingly established. Evolutionary theorists have been forced, step by step, to steadily retreat from the evidence in the field. Some of the evidences mentioned earlier in this article were demonstrated to be frauds and hoaxes. Other discoveries have been a blow to the straightforward expectations and predictions of evolutionists. Increasingly, they have been forced to tack ad hoc mechanisms onto Darwin’s theory to accomodate the evidence. Their retreat to unfalsifiable positions is now evident in every arena where they once triumphed. Let us examine how Darwinian theorists have moved from concrete predictions and scientifically observable supporting evidences to metaphysical positions in several key fields of research...

Though I may be a small minded bigot, I have enough faith to believe God said what he meant. The 7 headed beast may be real, but you can’t compare the symbolism of Revelation, and Daniel with what’s in Genesis.

Then evolutionists lost it in a much simpler area- reading comprehension.

Gen2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
and Gen 2:19 19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air.

They can’t even get those two verses read correctly without having to twist them to fit with what they think is right based on someone’s interpretation of the fossil record.

Except that the question specifically asked.....”How does speciation explain ‘drug resistance’?”

NOT *How does *the Theory of Evolution* (or natural selection) explain drug resistance?*

You never answered the question. You constructed a strawman and proceeded to address that, not what was asked.

If you take responsibility for what you write, you have to take responsibility for not answering the question asked.

Too much common sense for intellectual giants like evolutionists.

Then do tell why so many biblical scholars vehemently disagree with you?

"You never answered the question."

Why should I? I do not think that speciation has anything to do with drug resistance. Natural selection has. It's YOU guys who are trying to force the discussion in a direction that would enable you to construct a strawman.

So you do indeed believe that earth is the center of the universe, correct?

You believe Genesis contains no symbolism, right?

What is rational? Maybe the measurable evidence of gravity is just a byproduct of God’s will holding the earth together. In fact God’s Word does tell us He holds the universe together. God doesn’t need inventions like time, space, and gravity to make this world work. And he doesn’t need evolution to fine tune this world. And since His Word tells us death is caused by sin and Adam brought sin into the world, we know death is not a process by which life is perfected.

If you read the Bible through the evo paradigm, it makes no sense and all because hogwash.

Interesting. I’ve dealt with evo-trolls trying to corner me into saying all evos go to Hell. Now here’s an evo saying the creationist (believers in God’s Revelation) are going to Hell.

I’ll incorporate their tactic. Here it goes... So you’re saying all Creationists are going to Hell. I see. I’m done with you.

And since everyone believed Day meant Day until Darwin came around, I’ll go with Day meaning Day and not try to fit Genesis into a flimsy, ridiculous, scientific theory.

As you literal creationists, who believe Genesis is literal fact, and the rest of the bible is “symbolism when it’s convenient” seem to be following the Great Deceiver right through the fiery gates...

You make your bed, you have to lay in it.

No language and hence no writings in that language, are always, unrelentingly, literal. That includes Hebrew, the koine Greek and English.

How to tell what should be taken as figurative in whole or in part? First would be familiarity with the author's purpose in writing and style and then the context of the particular statement.

But no creationist of any persuasion has ever claimed that every single word of the Scriptures must be read in a totally, without exception, literal way. So why would they take this vision of John's as such?

“The only difference is that its believers never found a way to tie it to political policies that aim to destroy civilization and, oh by the way, massively redistribute wealth.”

Yes they have: Communism and Nazism.

“By you own words shal ye be revealed...”

You buried yourself. Deal with it.

(Your use of Alinsky’s rules is very unbecoming of a christian)

"Yes they have: Communism and Nazism."

True. Please note, however, that Communists and Nazis also adopted mathematics, physics and chemistry. Does this invalidate these sciences?

The discussion regarding evolution is not abstract. Evolutionary biology has practical impact, and if we don't want to live like the Amish (perhaps we should...), then we need to separate the science from the ideology and from the fact, that science from time to time is hijacked by evil ideologies.

“That includes major changes in the number of chromosomes in many cases, and I have yet to be informed of any changes in the number of chromosomes which has not had a deleterious effect on the individual in which it occurs.” metmom

I have attempted to inform you about what a ludicrous and ignorant statement that is NUMEROUS times. But when ignorance is all you have I guess you fight hard to keep it.

Plants change chromosome number all the time. Many animals have spontaneous splits or joining of chromosomes with absolutely no abnormalities (i.e. a different chromosome number, but the same genes and gene copy number).

What causes chromosomal abnormalities is having ONE copy of a gene when you need two, or THREE copies of a gene when you need two. If the genes are packaged in 23 or 24 chromosomes (haploid) makes no difference.

But no doubt you will trot out your “I have never heard” ignorance again, and again and again. Don't let actual factual data get in the way of your impenetrable ignorance.

He did answer the question. It is just that you did not like the answer and are now moving the goalpost.

This is a very common creationist/i.d. tactic.

Whether you choose to accept it or not the fact is that speciation is a part of the evolutionary process. This has been demonstrated by direct observation.

Your personal incredulity does not change the facts.
