Chinese archaeologists have claimed to have unearthed a sealed bronze pot containing two kilograms of red liquid during an excavation of an ancient tomb built in the Warring States Period (475 BC - 221 BC).
Wafts of the ancient vintage greeted the archaeologists after they opened the pot, The China Daily reports.
The find has been sent to Beijing for tests and verification.

If they could smell the wine, I’m thinking that this may not have been opened within a controlled environment. Attempts to microscopically examine the contents may have been ruined by contamination. Oops.

Yeah, they should develop stricter standards; maybe Zahi Hawass could help ‘em out. [side-splitting hilarity / laughing at own joke]

Red, red wine

Make me forget that I

Red, red wine
It’s up to you

But memories won’t go

2 scruffy-looking Vietnam veterans promptly consumed the wine and said, “Hey buddy, got any spare change? Hey...hey.”

How can ya beat “Two-Buck Chuck” wines? If they’re too old, they’re nothing but salad vinegar. If you’re lucky....

I think it was the 2006 vintage or may be it is the 2007, but the 2 buck chuck chardonnay was rated the best California chardonnay. So, when you’re cruising the wine selections and find that $20+ bottle of chardonnay to impress your friends, just buy the Charles Shaw and decant it.
