Conservative Republican Movement Is Brain Dead

Conservative Republicans support for Sen. Ted Cruz indicates that the conservative movement is brain dead. If Cruz is the best candidate they can find, then conservatives obviously have nothing to offer. Cruz may be the only Republican presidential aspirant who is dumber than Hillary Clinton.

Cruz fails to be a nationalist and is not really pro American on the economic front.

Do you have some examples?

I'm sure the headline writer will take one look at this soaring achievement in intellectual rhetoric and instantly realize just how wrong he is....

Don't care what the writer thinks. That's the point of saying "F*** you!"

It's vernacular for "You are not worth the trouble to even argue with. "

A conservative mechanic “I know what is wrong with your car but i can’t fix it now with the money you have. Pay me all that you got and I promise to limp it along until you have more money.”

I am not grasping your point here.

A good question. A better one is what does he do that is not conservative? Maybe work for a law firm that specializes in protecting the oligarchy?

My understanding is that Cruz is a Senator, and therefore works for the People of the US and Texas.

I’ll bet you don’t.

No need to be dismissive, just present your argument.

I used to think of myself as more or less a conservative, but if Cruz is the epitome of conservatives then I must be something else.

***********

Show me a Republican who doesn’t claim to be conservative. Today it’s a word without any clear meaning.

Not his entire career. Check his first and only “private sector” job.

Here is the Cruz Tweet:

9:37 AM - 19 Jun 2013

We need to secure the border. Any bill this body passes should have border security first & then legalization. Not the other way around.

I realize Cruz stipulates border security first. But I don’t want the mass legalization afterward. Too many of these Foreign Invaders have demonstrated that they are here to undercut America. What’s more, they broke the law to get here. The last thing they need is to be rewarded with legal status. [Btw, anyone who claims Trump supports touch back amnesty is clueless. Sessions co-wrote Trump’s immigration policy, and approved the final draft. Sessions does not support touch back amnesty.]

Cruz isn't going to build a physical wall!

And the trade deals are about foreign powers dictating what U.S. policies should be.

The very thing Cruz supports!

When Trump’s rally in Chicago was prevented by the Soros funded groups (attempted all over the country by the same), when supporters were attacked and their property damaged Cruz could have supported his rival’s constitutional right to speech and peacefully assemble and forcefully condemned the rioters.

Does anyone believe that anything done at a rally makes La Raza, Black LIARS Matter morons, MOveON, Illegalists and Leftist agitators do anything? They have been attacking him from the beginning and he, like almost all fighters, are sick of these disruptions. These people should be dragged out without concern about the damage done.

Cruz started out fine when asked to comment on this and condemned the rioters but he had to keep talking and proceeded to blame Trump for creating an atmosphere of violence as though those attacking his events were not the ones responsible.

Had he shut up after his initial comments or gone on to support his rival’s rights he could have been a stand-up guy. To make matters worse he went on to continue to blame Trump several more times that weekend. We are at War with the Left and only Trump is bearing the brunt of fighting that war. Then he has to listen to Cruz, Rubio and Kasich blame HIM. Despicable.

War came to Chicago and Cruz joined the Enemy.

What does his prior work have to do with his current work? Newbie Lawyers try to find good paying jobs too, but that does not mean they particularly like or agree with their clients.

"We need to secure the border. Any bill this body passes should have border security first & then legalization. Not the other way around."

That does not necessarily mean that he is supporting legalization. He is merely pointing out that the one thing needs to happen before any discussion of the other should occur.

I don't find this sort of verbiage unusually for a Lawyer or a Negotiator. When you are trying to reason with the moderates in your own party, you let them think they might in the future get their way, if they let you get your way right now. You get them to agree on one point, and then you try to push them a little farther later.

It's what a clever fellow would do. I'm sure Trump has mentioned this tactic in his book "The art of the deal."

I think he would have been much better off to do so.

War came to Chicago and Cruz joined the Enemy.

I wouldn't go that far. He just attempted a cheap political tactic, and it went badly for him.

So, if he didn’t have the bible, you’d be OK with him cheating on his wife? ‘Cuz then you’d be describing Trump, who is at least 2 wives ahead of Cruz. What kind of moral standards are you trying to project, again? Asking for a friend.

I'm not trying to project any moral standards at all.

I'm just having a great time baiting Cruzer church ladies and beta males.

Doesn't matter to me if he bagged himself a little tail on the side. I'm not voting for him anyway. Does it matter to you?

Someone needs to educate the moron that wrote that article about the term naturalized. Ted Cruz was not naturalized because he was a citizen at birth.

I was listing the things that Ted has done which are not conservative. Not just things he is currently doing. BTW, Cruz supporters want to make a big deal of Trump statements which are 20 to 30 years old. By the same logic, Cruz’s employment by a law firm which is a member in good standing of the establishment which Cruz claims to be fighting, is relevant.

The bulk of my post dealt with things Ted has done in his capacity as a US Senator which are decidedly not conservative. You have chosen to ignore them as they are not defensible as being conservative actions.

Ignore them? Where did you list them? I can't very well ignore something I haven't yet seen.

Or are you talking about those assertions you made in post #85?

I don't accepted stuff just because people say it. Too often people don't accurately state the situation, and when I look into it, I discover that either they have been misled, or they are attempting to mislead me.
