Michelle Obama is bringing a little bit of Hollywood on her trip to Qatar next week. The first lady is being accompanied by late-night comic and talk-show host Conan O’Brien, who will entertain US troops during a visit to the al-Udeid airbase near the capital of Doha.

The decision by officials at a high school in Montana to give up $117,000 in federal money and drop Michelle Obama's healthy lunch program has proved to be a popular and profitable success. Business has been booming in Bozeman High School's cafeteria since its board members voted to drop the National School Lunch Program in a bid to keep students from leaving campus to eat. WASHINGTON — Michelle Obama has turned her annual spring garden harvest into a plea for keeping healthier school lunch standards in place. Students who help plant the garden regularly return for the harvest. But on Thursday a few school nutrition directors also attended. A House bill due to be voted on soon would allow some schools to opt out of new standards that require more whole grains, fruits and vegetables in school lunches.
