Police officer accidentally shoots himself in the leg overnight By James Irby ABC13 Eyewitness News (2/20/03) — A Dallas police officer found himself at the center of a drug investigation here in Houston Thursday morning. He caught the attention of local police when he shot himself just after 10 pm Wednesday night. The Dallas police officer is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg at Ben Taub Hospital, where he's expected to be OK. The off-duty Dallas officer was visiting a relative in northwest Houston. Both men were apparently sitting in a car when things turned bad....
