Police in New York City are searching for a man who they say attacked a 73-year-old woman at a subway station. The New York Police Department says an unknown suspect punched a 73-year-old woman in the face Wednesday evening at a Bronx subway station, sending her to the hospital for pain and swelling, according to CBS 2 New York. The suspect ran away down a set of stairs following the attack, and police are asking for the public's help in order to apprehend him.

Statues and monuments related to the Confederacy have been vandalized and toppled in recent days across the country, and now a memorial has been destroyed in a church cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland. A Baltimore police officer has been suspended after a video showed him punching a woman and knocking her out after she confronted another officer. The police department said on Saturday that Commissioner Michael Harrison has also ordered an investigation of the incident. The video, posted on social media, shows a black woman confronting a white police sergeant in a downtown intersection on Friday night. When the sergeant grabs the woman's arm, she strikes the sergeant twice on his head. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is demanding that Twitter suspend President Trump’s “racist” account, over his recent tweeted warning that looters exploiting protests sparked by the death of George Floyd risk being shot.
