The former chief of staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn) arrested on child pornography charges last month has been found dead, according to police. Jesse Ryan Loskarn, 35, died in an apparent suicide in his parents' house in Sykesville, Md., two other sources familiar with the matter said. A release from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department said Loskarn was found in the home's basement and was unresponsive when authorities arrived after 12 p.m. A preliminary investigation indicated that Loskarn had committed suicide, the sheriff's office said in a release. (Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) says the home of his Chief of Staff is being searched. Alexander says the search is related to allegations involving child pornography with Ryan Loskarn who has been his COS since November of 2011. In a statement, Alexander said he is, “stunned, surprised and disappointed by what I have learned. Based on this information, I immediately placed Mr. Loskarn on administrative leave without pay. The office is fully cooperating with the investigation.”
