WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Convicted sniper John Muhammad appealed his guilty verdict and death sentence in one of 10 fatal shootings that terrorized Washington, D.C. and argued his conviction was based on guesswork and emotion, not facts and law. Parents Needed to Help Children Walk to School Montgomery County Public Schools are asking for parent volunteers to help tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8, by walking their children to school, waiting at bus stops, and replacing safety patrols at street corners and walkways. Student safety patrols will be prohibited from taking their assigned posts at street corners and walkways and, instead, parent volunteers are being requested to act in their place.
