I would like to get information on the best possible courses to take. I also wanted to know if I indeed needed to take Medical Terminology to get a degree in Virology. If there are any virologists who would like to tutor me, that would be good too

(Reuters) - Five percent of the population of Key West, Florida -- more than 1,000 people -- have been infected at some point with the dengue virus, government researchers reported on Tuesday. Most probably did not even know it, but the findings show the sometimes deadly infection is making its way north into the United States, the researchers said.

Please, if you can find the time, Say a prayer for Sandy. Sandy is my 10-1/2" year old chow/rott mix. They found a tumor in her eye and are removing it today. The are also going to xray her abdomen, due to her liver counts being on the high side. Doc thinks the liver is not serious due to symptoms displayed, but will do xray while she is under. Astronauts love doing zero-G stunts on the International Space Station, but only after the urge to vomit from space sickness has faded. Now fish, snails and other animals could help understand whether living in space can create long-term or even permanent damage in the inner ear. Scientists found that the inner ears of toadfish have high sensitivity to even the slightest movements, and that the toadfish brain can both boost and reduce signals from the sensitive inner ear. Because humans have very similar ear structures to these and other animals, toadfish could provide clues about how astronauts' inner ears adapt...

Many people, victims of the public education system, still believe that anything they buy or the doctor gives to them is safe, or that the Government is out there keeping them safe. Here's one of many examples of the FDA acting only after people are sickened or die. Perhaps people should learn how they get sick to begin with, and how to naturally prevent it, then they wouldn't need gallons of drugs a year. From Green Barbarians by Ellen Sandbeck: Some members of the American College of Chest Physicians reviewed decades' worth of studies and concluded that there is no...

On the morning of last year's annual Sunflower Fair in La Porte, Indiana, a family, appearing a little lost, walked up and down a crowded street, looking in vain for the table to sign up their entry. They carried a large sunflower with them. If no one noticed the exhausted, grieving look in the family's eyes, that was understandable. The Sunflower Fair is a place of happy noise: rides and music and food booths. It is La Porte's fall festival, and people from across northwest Indiana come to spend a Saturday in the midst of the milling, chattering crowds....

A Hospital Visit (Corrected Version) By Ari Bussel The greatest deed one can do for another is attend his funeral. The reason, one explains, is that the departed cannot repay for this deed on this earth. Funerals seem never planned in advance, sneaking up on us by surprise. Indeed, one will put aside any urgent matters requiring immediate attention, dress up and go to pay his respects. I, however, prefer to be in touch with the living. Often I think of my mother calling on a sick person to inquire. She would regularly call upon even those who may not...

A Kenyan health official says President Barack Obama's older half-brother has been hospitalized with stomach pains and is being tested for cholera. Local disease surveillance officer James Sande says that Malik Obama, a 51-year-old businessman, was taken to Siaya District Hospital in western Kenya on Tuesday evening. Sande says Obama's condition is improving enough for him to be discharged Thursday or Friday. Results of his cholera test have not come back.

His friends and family are keeping vigil and he was administered last rites shortly after midnight. Fr. George Rutler, who gave him the Catholic Sacrament, says that “he is not expected to live long” and suggests “that it is appropriate that prayers be offered for a holy death.” Fr. Neuhaus has come close to this moment before and been back. If it’s his time: Go in peace. He's a man who has loved and served His Lord. When he leaves this world, his vast intellectual and spiritual body of work will have a long life here....

'Fake photo' revives Kim rumours There is fresh speculation about the health of North Korea's "Dear Leader" Kim Jong-il, amid suggestions that an image of Mr Kim may have been doctored. The image, released on Wednesday, appeared to show Mr Kim in good health while inspecting two military units. But an analysis by the UK's Times newspaper highlighted incongruities around the leader's legs, and the BBC found what look like mismatched pixels. It has given new life to suggestions Mr Kim may be seriously unwell. "They go into ostrich mode so readily - because they have given no clue about...

A high level source in the Democratic party is saying that Joe Biden may drop out of the race on October 3rd citing health reasons. The source says they are intentionally choosing the day after the first VP debate to draw attention from a potential win for Palin. Several sources say Bill Clinton is looking for any situation to name Hillary as the VP. If Biden loses the debate, Bill and others will use that as justification to provide a more viable Palin contender. The high level source says the idea of replacing Biden is catching on with other Democratic...

What's Behind ‘Cloverfield' Illness? Wave of Nausea Hits Moviegoers By Michael W. Smith WebMD Medical News Reviewed By Louise Chang, MD Latest MedicineNet News Jan. 22, 2008 -- Scan the news and blogs and not only do you see that Cloverfield had a record-breaking opening weekend, but there was an unforeseen side effect: nausea. The problem -- at least for those prone to motion sickness -- is that it's all filmed through a very jerky handheld camera. "I saw...

Blame that Morning Sickness on Your Ancient Ancestors Author: Karen Barrow Medically Reviewed On: September 01, 2006 Despite its name, morning sickness—nausea and vomiting that is often one of the first symptoms of pregnancy—can happen at any time of the day. Up to 90 percent of pregnant women experience this less-than-pleasant side effect, yet scientists are only beginning to understand why running to the bathroom and saltines are a rite-of-passage for moms-to-be. Now, new research has shed some light onto morning sickness, and its roots lie in evolution. Researchers from the University of Liverpool suggest that morning sickness may have...

Does Sickness Glorify God?By Troy J. EdwardsTherefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. -John 11:3, 4 Taken out of it's contextual setting, this Scripture would appear to teach that God gets glory out of the sickness of others. So many have used this passage irresponsibly. However, a careful study of this passage proves that it is not so much the sickness that brought Jesus the...

(Translated by: Anna Ossipova) Majority of people consider even minor throat irritation or mild fever as a good-enough excuse to isolate themselves from their loved ones. That is understandable, of course. Up until recently, this was regarded as a logical move. Not so long ago, however, scientists were able to prove just the opposite: it is better to be sick together. This obviously does not mean that one should purposely sneeze at his/her partner. In this case, the effect will be minimal. It is important to battle the disease. And as for microbes, hot passionate kisses and good sex is...
