Lazy Saturday morning this week. Best things going is the we once again out numbered the moonbats, 7-5, and Lurker Bill’s music (BELOW). A lot has happened in Olney this lomg hot and dry summer of 2010. Our tale follows primarily in pictures. Not every week is included. We’ve been roughly plowed out of our subdivisions since late Thursday with the roads being rutted with up to 5" of snow pack. And the main roads were down to pavement but you unexpectedly loose lanes driving down them. But we survived. And our red banner survived. And we were back out on the corner in Olney. WEEK 209 - Jan. 09,2010 Cold as cold does. Looks like this may be our last real cold Saturday for a while. What you see for Week 209 is the dusting of snow that we received 24 hours earlier. It was too cold out for even the sun to melt this dusting. As the below picture shows, our FReeps are nothing compared to what our brave soldiers in Afghanistan trudge through. We start our 5th Year with temps in the high 20s, wind chill in the low-teens, gusts in the mid-40MPH. When two fearless moonbats showed up, I bet everyone that they would be gone by 11. After a cold and rainy Christmas Day Rally at Walter Reed, Olney was the FReepers Christmas Gift. A misty rain was still there, blowing all over our glasses, but it was sufficiently warm that no gloves were needed. At least I didn't wear any. WEEK 202: NOV. 21,2009 The MAC is BACK, the iMacMan that is. iMacMan is someone I consider a “cold weather FReeper”. His retirement keeps him away from Olney during the warmer months. As we gathered Oct. 19 for Week 193, Post Commander Halsey came with the sad news. Another Legionnaire, Francis, had passed away the night before. He seemed in good health for a WWII vet but his heart just gave out. Francis was the Post treasurer for as long as any one could remember and a good supporter of our Saturday morning Support the Troops Rallies. He would come, spend about half an hour with us and then head out to see his wife. She had advance alzheimers and didn’t know Francis anymore. But off he went anyways to see her...
