Newt Gingrich has turned his sights on Rick Santorum in a new robocall going out to Oklahoma and Tennessee voters, bashing the former Pennsylvania senator as having “cozied up to the labor union bosses.” The ad will reach 150,000 voters in each of the states, according to ABC News. “On the campaign trail, Rick Santorum talks a good game about his blue-collar roots, and about being for the average family,” a female narrator says. “But here’s the record Rick Santorum doesn’t want you to know about: As a senator from Pennsylvania, Santorum cozied up to the labor union bosses, and...

Santorum, Gingrich Target Obama at GOP Dinner in Ohio By Seema Mehta March 3, 2012 Bowling Green, Ohio— Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich courted GOP activists at a party dinner Saturday night, each painting a dire picture of America's straits, arguing that the nation's very soul is at stake in this upcoming election and saying that they were the candidate best suited to take on President Obama. Santorum, who delivered a fiery speech about the nation's heritage, clearly received the warmer reaction, with the hundreds of GOP voters gathered in a university student union leaping to their feet four times...

Public Policy Polling is polling 3 Republican Primary states with weekend: Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio. (I know, it's a Democratic firm, but I doubt that bias expresses itself when it's a Republican v. Republican race.) According to the tweets, Newt is not doing great in Ohio, polling at around 15%. However: 1) Newt's moving up to challenge Santorum in Tennessee: "Surprise of the day- Tennessee looking much more competitive. Santorum still up but Mitt and Newt within about 5-7 pts" 2) PPP confirms Newt's big lead in Georgia, and also finds that Santorum is fading to 3rd place in that...

WASHINGTON — As the Ohio Republican presidential primary enters its final days, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich can make a legitimate claim that he’s already providing a boost to the state’s wobbly economy. Gingrich spent more than $5 million using Ohio vendors for his presidential campaign in the past four months alone — far more than any of the other three GOP contenders. He spent the bulk of that money with two companies — Akron-based InfoCision and Delaware-based Strategic Media Placement Inc. — an affiliate of the Strategy Group for Media. In all, he spent $2.9 million with the former...

50+ precincts were represented and it looks like Ron Paul, then Santorum. then Gingrich and Romney comes in last. A reporter came to our precinct table saying he had gone around the room of about 400 people and could not find anyone for Romney. Said he had plenty for Paul and Santorum. Didn't mention Gingrich. Mostly 20 somethings for Paul. I voted for Santorum. But my district is notoriously left of center.

State Sen. Stacey Campfield, co-chairman of Newt Gingrich’s campaign in Tennessee, announced today he is quitting that position to support Rick Santorum in the Republican presidential race. The Knoxville Republican made his announcement in a post on his blog. In an interview, Campfield said he believes that conservatives need to unite behind a single candidate and that Santorum is best positioned to defeat “establishment Republican” candidate Mitt Romney. Campfield’s decision comes after a conversation with Santorum earlier this week. In his blog post, Campfield said he was “twisted inside because of my loyalty to Newt, my loyalty must first lie...

Savannah, Ga. - It's not just Energy Secretary Chu who Newt Gingrich says should be replaced in the administration. The candidate is suggesting Interior Secretary Ken Salazar needs to step down as well. "If the president would replace Dr. Chu with one of the people who has developed North Dakota Oil and then replace the Secretary of the Interior with one of the people who has developed North Dakota oil, in about 90 days you would have a revolution in developing oil and gas in the United States." A scattered audience of approximately a hundred people gathered in the sweltering...

While the best and brightest conservative leaders in America support and endorse Newt Gingrich for his leadership and historic accomplishments as Speaker of the House, including balancing the federal budget for the first time in decades, it is Newt's astounding debate skill that most astonishes everyone. With the power of the media behind him, it is only on the debate stage where Barack Obama can be defeated. This video, under 5 minutes, gives you a taste of those near-future historic and amazing moments yet to come if we but nominate as the GOP candidate the one man who can beat...

Taking a swipe at rival Rick Santorum, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich today said he was "not going to Washington to join the team," a reference to the former senator from Pennsylvania's statement that sometimes you have to "take one for the team" when working in government. "Unlike Senator Santorum, I'm not going to Washington to join the team," Gingrich told a modest sized crowd in Savannah. "I want to create a new team called the American people who force dramatic, bold change on Washington. And I want to force Washington to decide, 'Do you want to be on the...

A one-line question to ponder. Why is it that Newt Gingrich's sexual escapades were enough to discredit him, but Sandra Fluke's escapades make her a hero who is entitled to OUR money?

ATLANTA — A new poll shows Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum losing ground in Georgia to Newt Gingrich, even after an extensive visit to the state. The Landmark/Rosetta Stone poll of 950 likely Republican primary voters was conducted Thursday exclusively for Channel 2 Action News. The survey showed Newt Gingrich earning 42 percent of the vote, Mitt Romney with 22 percent, Rick Santorum with 16 percent and Ron Paul with 5 percent. Fifteen percent of Georgians remained undecided. A Landmark/Rosetta Stone poll conducted one week ago had Santorum in second place, but the candidate has lost nearly 10 percent of...
