One of the benefits of Adel Guindy’s new book, A Sword Over the Nile: A Brief History of the Copts Under Islamic Rule, is that it implicitly answers an important question: how and why did non-Muslim nations become Islamic? In this case, how did Egypt go from being overwhelmingly Christian in the seventh century to being overwhelmingly Muslim in the twenty-first century? To understand the significance of this question -- and because pre-Islamic Egypt’s profoundly Christian nature is often forgotten -- a brief primer is in order: Before Islam invaded, Egypt was home to some of Christendom’s earliest theological giants and...

Twelve civilians, including two women and a child, and at least as many Malian soldiers, were killed in a double attack Tuesday, October 13 in central Mali, the deadliest in the country since the putsch of August 18. This new attack comes a few days after the release of four hostages - an opposition leader, Soumaïla Cissé, the French Sophie Pétronin and...

A French teacher who had recently shown students cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed was beheaded outside his school on Friday, in what President Emmanuel Macron called an "Islamist terrorist attack". The assailant, whose identity has not been established, was shot by police as they tried to arrest him and later died of his injuries, police said. The attacker shouted "Allahu Akbar" ("God is greatest") as police confronted him, a cry often heard in jihadist attacks, a police source said.

***The German-language news outlet TAG24 reported Wednesday that a man identified only as “Edris Z.” had carried out “a coldly planned revenge murder” against his former girlfriend, a “refugee aid worker had previously denounced the Afghan-born man under the Protection Against Violence Act.” This is horrific enough, but it gets even worse: Edris Z. was in the past hailed as a model migrant, and even dubbed an “Ambassador of Saxony.” TAG24 states that Edris emigrated from Afghanistan to Germany in 1995, that is, well before Angela Merkel initiated the mass Muslim migration that has inundated Germany in the last few...

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota said on Monday that Republicans would "lose their mind" if a Muslim woman were appointed to fill a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court. "Let's be clear about this: if a Muslim woman was nominated to SCOTUS you would see Republicans lose their mind about her religious background," Omar wrote on Twitter. "'Sharia law' would be trending right now. Miss me with the pearl-clutching and all this righteous talk about religious freedom."

No thanks to Kamala Harris. Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. Most bakeries kill people with fattening sugary sweets. Your Black Muslim Bakery was a health food bakery with no sugar, fats or food coloring according to the guidance of the Koran. It had other ways of killing people. Since Your Black Muslim Bakery opened in the sixties it has not only racked up a bigger body count than most bakeries, but could give a decent Mexican cartel a run for its...

During one of the more charged moments of the chaotic US presidential debate, former Vice President Joe Biden dropped a phrase from everyday Muslim and Arab vocabulary and lit up the internet. Pressing President Donald Trump on when the American public would get to see his long-anticipated tax returns, Biden questioned: "When? Inshallah?" In certain vernacular, "inshallah" serves as a non-committal response to a question. Taken literally, the term "inshallah," consists of three Arabic words (In sha' Allah) which translate into "if God wills it." Spiritually it represents a submission to God's will. It can perhaps be seen as the...
